Does Quotes On Laying Tiles Usually Inculde Sand?

Recommended Posts

I have a question

Like an example of below quote

- Supply and lay 600mm x 600mm Homogenous floor tiles for Living, Dining and Passage-way ( Include Homogenous skirtings)

Does these quotes includes the price of buying Sand from HDB and haulage to our flats?

Why im asking this is because an ID quote me $4600 base for the above

Another contractor which i know say that the below way is cheaper

- I buy tiles and i calculated total tile price $2652

- then contractor say labour is about $2300

- then i need to buy sand myself = 800

- I calculated total is a shocking $5752 so much expensive!!!

Please advise...

I suppose this is a new BTO flat. If so, yes u have to get the main haulage service guy to supply you with sand. As for the labour cost, it depends on the sq area of the house.

Usually tiles cost is supply by contractor unless you are getting marble or granite

contractor can get a better deal from supplier

btw how much is your hompgeneus tiles cost per ft run?

sand cost $800 for 4 room flat i guess i quite standard, some id package inside their quote :)

Since when homogeneous tiles go by per ft run? I think is typo there, should be per square feet.

My IDs said haulage work (uplifting of materials & sand + disposal of debris) and laying of the tiles are separate.

I think he said 3 room cost about $800-850; 4 room around $950 and 5 room $1100+.
