I am in the midst of renovating a 4A resale flat. Nearly died of shock when I received my electrical wiring quotation for the house. As it is an old house in the Tampines area, I decided to do a complete overhaul.

Was wondering whether the quoted prices are ridiculous or reasonable?

If it is daylight robbery, could anyone recommend a reliable licensed electrician?

Hi vajra, u sure u have so many lights at home?? It's a total of close to 80 lights!!! Each installation is $10, that's is already $800.. Wow..

I agree with applepie, a whopping 80 lights for a 4 room? It would also mean 80 lighting points? Your total cost does not include lighting fixtures.

i think he wants to have a lot of down lights + cove lights... not sure why he wants to have so many. small study room have 6 downlights plus 8 cove lights.

living room is even worse, 10 downlights with 16 cove lights. really really a lot. can light up 2 x 4room flat.

Based on the quote, the price seems regular and fair. This is quite the price in the market, unless you are a contractor who gets the contractor price cut.

As many has replied, I believe its the quantity that makes up the bulk of your cost. You may want to review it with your contractor?
