$18,000 For Electrical Work..too High Perhaps?

Recommended Posts

ID quoted me a lump sum of 18,000 for the Electrical portion of my reno bill - I am doing A&A for my old SEMI-D.

I find the 18K disturbingly high...even after I factor in market price for most of the item, there seems to be at least 8K not accounted for.

Any advise on this quote? Too high or ok?

Thanks!!

i think the killer is in the hacking/concealment, designer switches

still 18K is a little high, and also probably you're staying in semi-D

thats where the sharp chopping knife comes in.

You mentioned A&A, not rebuild. So i guess not all point need to be concealed right?

If i remember correctly, some will charge a conceal pricing (ie hack and embed inside wall) even if points are hidden through false ceiling and/or carpentry works.

You may want to ask a second opinion. Ask if other electrician can quote other than conceal or by 'length' to be laid.

In anyway, no harm finding out more from what other electrician have to say. Good luck.
