Electrical Cost In Em

Recommended Posts

My contractor has given me this quote for cost of Electrical work.

Below is the breakdown of the cost:-

1) Light point @40 x30 = $1,200/-

2) to supply labout to fix per light @$8 x30 = $240/-

3) SCV point @$100 x4 = $400

4) Telephone point @$55 x 2 = $110

5) Heater point @$100 x2 = $200

6) 2 x13amp double sockets @$55 x 15 = $825/-

7) 1 x13amp singlet socket @$45 x4 = $180/-

8) air-con point @$110 x1 = $110

9) 18 to 22 way DB board (all base on estimated points) =$350

Total cost = $3,6150

Can I check with EM owners who have done a complete electrical work, mind sharing if the quote given by my contractor above is reasonable? One thing I am uncertain is whether the above quotation is inclusive of Cat6 point installation as it seems it is absence from this list :(. Of course, I suppose I need data-point installation which he did not included

I am contemplating should I get a separate Electrician to do this job or should I negotiate the cost with my contractor's electrician.

Thank you all!

I don't think got include cat6 point as if have will state data point ..

and your telephone price wrong .. 2x$55 = $110 .. not $200 :notti:

Yes, thanks for pointed out the error :-)

So cat6 point is widely known as data-point? How much roughly will it cost?

I noticed that my contractor didn't quote sockets for 15amp. What if in future I were to purchase home appliances that is 15amp, can the item be plugged into the 13amp socket?

I am really a noob when comes to Electrical work; lack of knowledge

15amp socket is your aircon point whereby only aircon and HDB common areas like carpark n corridor using .. you wont find it in any household equipments ...

on my quotation, my electrician state data point (Cat6) and pricing depends on the length you need I guess...

As for your quote from your electrician, all I can say is not a bad deal according to market rate (Im not a pro) :yamseng:
