To Hack Or Not To Hack?

Hi All,

I just got myself a 4-room resale flat.

Now, my headache is whether to hack the entire toilet (master & common) flooring or not?

Should I just do overlay? As this house is only 5 yrs old, it's 'neither here nor there'.

What are the pros and cons of overlay?

Hack. Redo the waterproofing. Overlay is only for those warranty for hdb tiling works.

new HDB has 5 yrs warranty on the waterproof.

Hack will be better.

Although more ex, it saves u time and money should the old water proof burst. Then u need to rehack ur overlay and old tiles

As what the others said, there is 5 years warranty for waterproofing for hdb tiles. Since your flat is already 5 yr old, just hack off the whole extg tiles and redo the waterproofing, reselect the tiles you like for your bathroom.
