Parquet Flooring - How To Take Care?

Recommended Posts

I am getting my resale house soon and the bedrooms comes with Parquet. The house is already 6 years old, What must I do to maintain it?

Must I lacquer before moving in? How much would it be roughly for 2 bedrooms?

How else to further maintain it?

Thanks!!

Any advise on whether I need to lacquer before moving in? How much would it cost for 2 bedrooms anyway? A rough estimation?

Considering the age of the parquet floors, you can definitely consider refurnishing your floors before moving in, it would be less of a hassle now then to do so after you've moved in your furniture.

You can,

1) Place a rubber protection on legs of furnitures, beds etc.

2) Avoid using excessive amounts of water when cleaning the floors ie mopping.

The cost of the refurnishing pretty much depends on the area of the rooms, and the choice of varnish being chemical, water-based polyurethane and the seldom used oil.
