Yet another checklist of work done over the last few days:

[√] Main door – wanted a condo feel with a long vertical handle

[√] Door frame varnished – two shades darker than the door

[√] Iron gate – simple white horizontal bars

[√] Window grilles – aligned to our louvered windows to minimize view obstruction

Here's a post on about one of our favourite parts of our home design... our kitchen entrance!

kitchen-entrance-95.jpg?w=400kitchen-view.jpg?h=300

This part of the design was quoted and re-quoted until we were satisfied with the balance of aesthetics, practicality and costs. Our semi-open concept kitchen is created by a low wall lined with subway tiles on each side and an aluminum lattice of windows that spans across the entrance. The black and white colours and patterns match the interior of the kitchen – the industrial café look. Our pair of retro pendant lamps illuminate the entrance like a shopfront and adds to the ambiance of the living room, kitchen and our bedroom.

We are just days away from the completion of our renovation and can soon move on with shifting in furniture and delivering the appliances –– excited! :sport-smiley-004:

Really like everything that you're doing. V nice!

Nice! Bet it will look great when all the furnishing is in.

Thanks! Furnishing is going to be a challenge. Hopefully the furniture and appliances won't be burning too big a hole in our pockets.

Almost done with our reno, just short of a few items then we can start to check through the place.

Got our electrical trunking painted matt black to match the black industrial pipes. Now they all blend nicely together. Kudos to our painter for a job well done. The rest of the home is done in brilliant white, except for the back wall of the bedroom and study which are done in darker colours. Glad that with the lights, the ambiance we wanted is achieved – it's bright and spacious in the day and warm and cosy at night.

I hope to achieve this ambience as well. :)

We're back! Took a week off our reno while our contractor apply his finishing touches.

Here's a small post about our shower screen, which was recently completed due to breakage during the initial installation.
We took inspiration from the Duravit OpenSpace shower screen, which is a perfect fit for our tiny bathroom space.

The tempered glass panel is a shower screen when open and nicely folds away into a bath cabinet when closed.

The handles also double up as rods for hanging stuff.
