Please Help To Roughly Gauge Simple Reno Cost For 5-Rm Resale

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys,

I'm new here. And I am also about to make an offer for a 5-rm resale flat 125sqm.

As I will not be taking a reno loan, I need an estimate of the reno cost that will be involved to work out my sums carefully.

I know it's impossible to gauge a figure for a reno cost without looking into more details, but I just need an estimate. Honestly I do not want to overstretch my limited cash on hand.

Based on your experience, please advise a rough, ball-park figure for the following (if this is possible in theory):

1. Floors.

As the original floor (living + all bedrooms) are marble, I will not replace it, except to give it a new coat of polishing.

2. Replace kitchen cabinets (estimated 20-ft run) c/w

a. L-shaped solid surface

b. 3-burner hob only. No hood.

c. Install large-sized frosted glass panels on wall side of cabinets.

3. Walls. New coat of paint.

4. Change 4 bedroom doors.

The following are fine:

1. Wiring

2. Ceiling and lighting points

3. Windows and grills.

I am also deciding if I want to hack and revamp the toilets. Current conditionas are acceptable though.

Please also advies if I have missed out any important components.

Thanks a million.

:)
