My Wife Was Happy

Guys out there like me. My wife was happy and thus so is my life.

Previously we trusted a contractor that came recommended to us from our aircon service guy. We purchase a 3bedroom resale hdb flat in bukit merah. Old estate but got it cheap so we didn't really look much into it before we seal the deal.

We visit a few Ids and find the price pretty steep while each speaks a different story. I seriously felt as if i have the 'please chop me' look. The stress and information overload was pretty much bearable to me. But dear wife who i do love on the other hand went berserk. So eventually i settled for a contractor due to cheaper in price. And what followed on was horrible. I had serious issues with my floor being cold on some spots and warm on some spots. I tried speaking to my neighbor downstairs but stop because my contractor says he can solve the problem. When i ask him further on how he can resolve the issue. He started getting upset and angry. I am a paying customer and somehow it became as if i'm pleading for his service. Forfeited my deposit money and drop him which made me even more dishearten in this whole senario.

But god blessed us and one of our friends told us about his Id. We called and met up with her. Initially i wasn't comfortable with her as she look really petite and young. Plus half of what we wanted, she told us no straight so it was abit irritating. But strangely enough, she was the only id which did not drive my wife crazy. later on my wife explain that the id told her, feeding too many complex designs to a customer which does not have that kind of budget to get it done is just cruel. Yes, that sentence nailed it. The more we discuss about it the more comfortable we felt towards her rude honesty.

During the renovation, it was not a 100% smooth sailing. But i wasn't the one handling it. My wife trusted her so much she was more then happy to take over my job. But more then once the moment we called her, she appeared there to explain the situation to us soon after. even for small things. And honestly, to us, after that bad experience with the previous contractor. we appreciated it alot.

Anyway i just want to share this experience because i almost fell for something with a cheaper pricetag and probably will give me problems later on. And i do agree now that we have the tendencies to only want to speak people promising to us the world. Most importantly is my dear wife who looks at me and smile asking me what i want for dinner.
