Changing Laminate Of Built-In Wardrobe

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

I need some advise if it is possible to change the current laminate on my built-in wardrobe. Apparantely the entire wardrobe is in good condition, I just want to change the laminate to a new look.

Any reliable and reasonable pricing carpentry contacts will be appreciated.

yes and no.

normally they will change the doors instead of stripping off the laminate.

but if u insist on stripping off the laminate, it can be done, but the labour fees is quite ex as stripping really involves lots of work.

normally they will recommend u to change the doors with ur chosen laminate stick on it already.

pricing wise, it depends on how big and how complicated ur skeletons and ur wardrobe is.

Ok thanks for advise. I need to strip not just the doors but also frame of wardrobe too, that's why am comtemplating if I should just change the entire wardrobe or not.

yes, the frames, i had refer them as skeletons. :)

but if u change the laminate, u need very skilled carpenters to do a nice job.

very difficult to explain to u, u have to see then u know.

Most likely will be changing the entire doors and strip the laminate on the skeletons.

I have been wanting to change the laminate of my wardrobe too but have no idea where to engage such service and how much it would cost :help: .

An alternative could be film. A contractor who did the crystal window films for my windows showed me some photo of his other clients' works. The design can be customized and can be applied on windows, doors and wardrobes. I did not ask further because I'm hoping to explore laminate option first.
