Big Scale Printer In Hdb Flat

Recommended Posts

Sorry for my ignorance. I am thinking to buy a big scale printer for use in my new HDB for my small business. However the supplier told me that I will need industrial strength electricity (2 x 240V single phase 16Amp power) for the printer. When I checked on the brochure, it shows per below:-

Power consumption
Maximum: 4.8 kW maximum (only when warming up),

Active: 2.7 kW, Powersave: 50 watts

Power requirements
Input voltage (auto ranging): 220 to 240 VAC (-10% +6%), 50/60 Hz (+/- 3 Hz), 15 A max per power cord

My flat is a new BTO with higher electrical loading of 40amps. I know that HDB flats have 220-240V. Does that mean that I can use this printer at home? Thanks for any advise you can give me.

Ya. I thot so too but he showed me his printer which was indeed hooked up to big plugs. This is in his showroom at an industrial estate so I'm not sure is it because it's really needed or that's all he had at the showroom. Lol!!

Now I'm not sure if I can buy it or not coz it makes no sense to rent an office in an industrial estate just for my small business.

So long as incoming breaker wont trip, no earth leakage, no fire, why can't use?

Normal 3-in-1 aircon needs 15A plug.

You can install 20A isolator 3-pin power plug, no issue.

Hot stamping printing? Brand?Maker?

X-Y plotter?

Dot-matrix printing?
