Havent had time to update this blog these few weeks..... was busy with work, reno, sourcing for wedding banquet, buying of electrical appliances...etc..Finally I can make use of this Deepavali holiday to update the blog! :lol:

We bought our Toshiba air-cons from Gain City expo fair and had it installed already. We couldnt afford to go down and witness the installation due to our work, so just a few days before installation, we went down to our house at night to mark the positions of where we want the air cons to be. Alan went down to help us talk to the aircon installers too and it was done within a day.

We had also arranged for the City Gas heater to be installed. And due to work again, we couldnt be there for the installation. Alan was kind to agree to oversee the gas heater installation for us. Unfortunately, when the city gas workers came, they couldnt find the point of the gas pipe. They said usually HDB will have a marking on the wall to indicate where the gas pipe is and for some reason, they couldnt find the marking in our unit! :blink: Therefore, they had drilled a big hole in our kitchen wall to find the pipe but they still couldnt find it. When they finally found it, they had already taken a long time and had to come back another day for the installation...

HDB came to redo the cement screed. However, they took more than 1 week to complete. This caused our reno to delay as no work can be done during that time. Alan was quite pissed off and suggested that we lodge a complaint to HDB.

Our reno couldnt progress much these few weeks as we couldnt find the time to decide on the paint colours. After we have finally decided on the paint colours, we spent the weekend in the house to paste the paint colours on the walls and ceiling.

Our Taobao items have arrived too! Will have to deliver them bit by bit to our new house.

Alan said painting will start this Thursday, followed by installing of lights. Hearing which, we quickly made our purchase of ceiling fans (Crestar and Fanco) and arrive for them to deliver on Friday.

We bought our Bosch built in oven, hod and hood all from Kong Tai today. Need to buy all these before WX go for his 3-weeks reservist next week.... I think we have reached a point where we are too tired to compare the prices from various suppliers and brands, and we need to buy the items urgently. Kong Tai is the supplier that was highly recommended by my friend and forumers, and the shopkeeper recommended Bosch appliances to us. As we do not have much requirements for these 3 items, we bought them without much thoughts. We were glad that what need to be bought urgently are settled. And now, we can take our time to shop for the less urgent stuff. :good:

We are approaching the last stage of the reno. Met up with Alan's carpenter last week to discuss on the carpentry work. Will have to think about our wardrobe and kitchen cabinet configuration.The glass panel and glass door are not installed yet as Alan said the glass is hard to cut due to the arc measurement and thus need more time to do so. After the glass panel and door are up, we will inform Kenneth (from Evorich) to install the HERF flooring for us. Will update again once everything has been confirmed! :thumbs up:

Very angry and disappointed after we visited our house today... :angry2: :angry2:

After the cement screed that the HDB contractor had done for us for the 2nd time, it is still not satisfactory!! What makes it worse is that we only realised that the cement screed was not even after Evorich has installed the flooring for us... the cement screed really cannot make it.... :curse: Every one or two steps that we took we could feel the unevenness... it became very obvious after the flooring was installed. We were very angry with both HDB contractor and the Evorich contractor. HDB contractor should do a better job considering that they do more than 1 week to complete the cement screed..(for the 2nd time), and Evorich contractor should have checked the evenness of the cement screed before installing the flooring for us....

Now that the flooring has been installed, if we are to redo the cement screed (for the 3rd time), there are several consequences....

1) additional cost will apply for removal of flooring and re-installing again after the 3rd cement screed

2) we may be charged for the 3rd cement screed as HDB no longer do cement screed for free.

3) as we have already installed our glass panel at bedroom 3, any drilling to remove the existing cement screed may cause the glass to crack due to strong vibration.

:angry2::angry2::angry2:

WX and I had been pretty happy with our house reno until Evorich installed the HERF... Another disappointment with the flooring....

We had chosen Amsterdam Eggshell from Evorich and it doesnt turned up to what we had expected...

There are just too many "eyes"... those were the first things that caught our eyes when we entered the house. They make the whole living room looks old and dirty with black dots all over the place....This was not what we saw at the expo fair when we signed our Evorich package... what a disappointment... Will anyone accept such kind of flooring in their house?? :o :o :o We talked to Kenneth (from Evorich) about this and he said that this is normal. IS THIS REALLY NORMAL??? kind of regretted signing with Evorich....
