Looking for good contractors? Click here for your request

u want some for your new home to pickup some DIY know-how :notti: I rather learn nothing and enjoy a nicely renovated new home with family :dancingqueen:

As mentioned in post#96, some of those defects are not within my DIY capability. Some will probably cost $1k to $2k to get fixed. The whole off-centered TV console & featured wall will cost more than $1k already...which I would rather dispose my floorstanding speakers and go for sound bar or smaller satellite speakers.

BTW, any advice to polish the Quartz kitchen table top and solid surface vanity top? Mine are all very dull and come with white patches. I have tried white vinegar, mama-lemon dish washer and warm water on a small area of the quartz, but none seems to work. Found some recommended products in the US online store. Pls share if you know any similar and proven products sold locally. Thks!

I get what you mean. I, too, would choose a nicely-renovated home over DIY learning opportunities any day. In a heartbeat.

I'm afraid I don't know how to polish quartz and solid surface countertops, unfortunately.

All the best, Wyx03-2002.

wah bro.... after a few months, thought I am expecting your problems to be all resolved... looks like your ID is super ****ty...

no offense to you but this kind of works even paying just $1k I already feel like slapping his ***.... let alone his overpriced quotation... I can understand where you are coming from though, most of us willing to spend as much as possible to make our home comfortable.. but this kind of contractor just sucks big time..I really hope CASE can do more than just allowing you to file small claim, but looks like our country, even unscrupulous trades are being 'somewhat' manipulated by many loopholes.

I agree that you should quickly look for a reliable contractor to "clean up his ****" too~ heartache for u when I see those pictures..

p/s: good to see you are staying calm after all these happenings.. if me, maybe stress / mental unstable until no mood work/eat~

So exhausted to find new defects while trying to patch the existing ones.... :bangwall:

1) Always found white powder on the black quartz table top right below a power sockets and 20A switch in kitchen. The 20A switch was very rough when switching on/off, and the power socket was loose. Opened the covers last week and found another terrible workmanship. So....LL and cleaned them up myself lor :bangwall:

2) Patches of silicon and cement everywhere...wonder why they filled cement underneath A/C units in both bedrooms??

3) The paint right above MBR door started to drop off. I guess they probably didn''t clean/dry the surface before applying paint.

4) These are another defects that I have yet to find an electrician and stone specialist to fix. Me and wife had wanted the iQuartz, but ID J* "managed" to convince us to go for his preferred LianHen brand quartz, which he claimed to be the best quartz in this price range.

While fixing the existing ones, you discovered another few....it takes time to catch up things like this.

It's just part of our life.....we meet nice ppl sometimes, but we also meet 'suay' ppl occasionally. So long as family is supportive and work out together, everything can be solved ;)
