hmm.... I dont have additional layer between the vinyl and cement screed. Not sure for @coolbunny

Not for me too and never heard of this thin layer from all ID I met. But if yr ID quote above 1.8k for cement screed you can forget about it. Over quote.

Hi all,

My bto is very near to completion (ard end dec).

Am in the middle of selecting IDs for my reno.

Would like to check what's the quotation like for those who had done their reno. Please help to advice on the items below. Thanks a lot.. :)

1) Cement screed flooring (bedrm + living)

2) 6ft wardrobe

3) 9ft kitchen bottom cabinet

Sample floorplan layout

My flat is finally complete - the quotation was around 29k, in the end top up another 3k for miscellaneous which includes electrical, and then flooring by evorich - so around 35k? But my carpentry works is quite a fair bit.

My flat has already been handed over to me, so I thought I'd share some final pictures.

Living room carpentry:

My favorite part is the geometric lights.

I split my living room into two so that I could get another bedroom, as such I have a platform bed cum bedroom and a very small living room.

I also made the actual bedroom smaller so I could have a "corridor" for my cat, and so the toilet would be open to the living room instead of in the bedroom.

Finally my completed kitchen and toilet.

Nice!

Your original bathroom got 2 doors right? so you sealed  both and open a new door facing living room? Didnt know that this is allowed.

No I only sealed one - the other door faces the "corridor" which is where the bedroom used to be.

Is there a maximum height for platform bed?

i want to make a 450-500mm high storage platform bed but my ID says is not allowed by HDB.

true?

Hi huairen, there is no such rule as far as I know.
that said, 500mm is quite high for a platform bed?
are you intending to sit on it with your feet be able to touch the ground?

You need to take into consideration that you will also have a mattress which will elevate the height
even higher. (~ 10 inches / 25.5cm) and that may be a safety hazard if the entire height of the
platform bed + mattress rises too close to your bedroom window, as you actually run the risk of falling off.

Is meant for sleeping.

I not getting a thick mattress so it will not be that high. I guess maybe have to put grill? Though I don't like to have grills.

Yesterday another ID tell me HDB rule is just have to have a height of 2m from ground to ceiling.

Now I don't know who is right?

Got my keys yesterday and I ask the HDB officer, she say have to ask the HDB at the estate. Zzz

If your unit is not the top floor, standard height is 2.6m. If platform is 50cm, you still have 2.1m.

My platform is also about 50cm and I do see the danger of falling from window. So now I only open 1 side of the window only. No grill.

Congrats on the key collection. Any picture? Where is the location?

Mines at Punggol Sunray.

The wall between room and living will be gone.

I think I might get the invisible grill for the room window if I feel it's dangerous. But I still don't wish to have any grills.

you got unblocked view! nice!

I notice your bathroom window is very different from us. where is the aircon ledge? I like the bathroom layout where all the items are placed side by side.

why almost everyone want to knocked down the wall... lol

Indeed bathroom window is very different. In fact this harkens back to 80s style bathroom window
Your sliding door looks good. Interesting HDB now don't use standard door anymore.

DB-Box is also intelligently designed and positioned in a nice place.
How I wish the architect who designed my place used abit of brain when designing position of my dbbox lol
