Recommended Posts

Hi,

Anyone use mosquito net for your windows?

Wondering what are the options out there? How is it installed? DIY or have to hire professionals to do it?

As we're going to be staying in low floor, so we're considering getting it..

Reviews and ideas are all welcome~ :D

U can buy fibre mosquito net from homefix $17.50 and magnetic strip 3metre 10cm and brown tape from daiso.

I only bought 1 set old version 1.5m x 1.5m $39.00 too short for bedroom windows so i used it in 2 toilet windows.

From http://magneticinsectscreen.blogspot.sg/?m=1 Velcro strap not lasting.

You can DIY from the website listed above (I have done it on one window) or else you can get it installed for you. We used a company called Magnetic Screen and it is great. We've had it in place for over 2 years now. It is easy to open and clean, and certainly keeps out all the insects and a lot of dust. Magnetic strips is much better than velcro.

Hi all..am keen to fix this for my home. Have a question for thise using it.

How is the net in terms of alllowing wind and air flow into your house?

The net holes look rather small & i am wondering if the house becomes stuffy after installation.

Thanks in advance for your comments

Air flow isn't a problem. Everyone always comments how breezy our place is. But, the netting does get dusty ..... so you need to clean every 6 months or so,otherwise airflow could be blocked.

Just want to share this Insect Screen Specialist who had just installed the insect screen for my 5 room HDB unit at Mountbatten. I installed it on main door gate and all windows.

I find the quality very good and the installer friendly, responsive and price is good. Besides keeping mosquitos/insects away, the insect screens are near invisible, removable and washable. Moreover, it Protects against UV light and keep the sun glare away.

Check them out!

I am not the DIY type as I think it will be messy and I may end up wasting the materials if I do wrongly, plus no time to do it myself. I installed it through the vendor to play safe. You can contact them at http://www.insectscreensingapore.com/contact/ if interested.

Pretty happy with their price and service, the installation works well for me so far, at least now no mosquitoes/house lizards.
