Embedding sink waste pipe and plastering ceiling

Recommended Posts

Hi,

it's frustrating to get different answer from different ID. Some say this can and some say that cannot....

So for those who have done your house reno, would like to have a little advice from you.

1. If I relocate my kitchen sink, can I embed the waste pipe below the floor tiles all the way to the original drainage hole? Same for washing machine drain pipe ( I am going to hack away the old tiles and to totally redo the whole flooring)

2. can I plaster smooth the ceiling? (previous owner have sand blasted it)

thanks all.

Hi User123,

Physically, if you want to hide your waste pipe in the floor tiles, it can be done.  Technically, you will need a PE to endorse the hacking if the waste pipe is too big.  If it is 20mm dia it is still possible to do it without a PE.  Reason is because you will be hacking into the slab and it is not allowed.
