Granite Floorings

Recommended Posts

I have some granite flooring in my home, but after many years, i see that the granite stone is losing its luster and it is also abit stained

My question is how do you guys normally maintain granite stone floorings?

Thanks

Hello Keroline,

Granite is an igneous rock. An entryway with granite floor tiles displays a certain regal elegance. Because of it's physical qualities, granite is quite durable - resistant to heat, stains, and sudden drops of heavy objects. Granite floor tiles are a practical luxurious investment for our home.

These are some of the ways to maintain granite stone flooring:

1. Inspect the edges and grout

2. Wipe up all spills immediately

3.Using a soft mop or cloth, clean floors with a bucket filled warm water and a mild detergent or natural stone cleaner.

These are the things that you should avoid:

1.Conventional floor cleaning products – you’re better off using special marble cleaners or granite cleaners.
2.Ceramic tile cleaners, as these can dull the marble.
3.Anything that’s either very acid or very alkaline.
4.Rough cloths, like wire scouring pads.
5.Vacuum cleaners, as the wheels and hoses can scratch the materials.

I hope the information will be useful for you.

For granite stone which is rather tough so spills should not be much of an issue unless ofcourse you have marble

This is actually the worst as those scouring pads can actually scratch your tiles permanently
