I think the quotation by my ID is a little too high. The ID quoted 50k for my 4-rm BTO.

Posted the quotation here, what do you all think? Is it too high?

Looking for good contractors? Click here for your request

hi ts, as far as I can see, many of the items are overpriced. are u just buying the design, that's why u engage this ID? because if u have some specific design, its better to engage a contractor. even the standard package of the $12888 are over priced...

Hi, what would be a reasonable price for this renovation?

This ID is expensive, some are absurd.

1. Kompacplus pricing is very close to solid surface, top up 10-20pfr is still ok. Your top up can already pay for the kompacplus itself, it's like they remove the solid surface for you for free...

2. Window grilles is double the price of norm.

3. The top up for internal PVC colour is very expensive too. At 280pfr, you can already get wardrobe with internal colour PVC, this ID still want to charge you 45pfr just for internal colour PVC.

Thank you for your comments.

The ID told me he has to mark up 20% for his profit margin, is it reasonable or totally not an industry practice at all?

Hi,

I just did my my home, previously i went around to look for many quotes from many different companies. And finally came to a conclusion that diff id company quotation are diff as  only they themselves know what they are quoting as design and materials used are diff, some tried to pull a quick deal off where they themselves are not sure and not knowledgable. I personally feel that having a responsible contractor or ID is very important.

In the end decided to use a ID that is introduce to me by a friend which have engaged their service before.

If u really need my ID or Contractors contact feel free to let me know

Hi,

I noticed that there are some hackings at 35 36 walls. Just to highlight in case you do not know about this.

For hacking of walls, the contractor will need to apply approval from the HDB. Then the HDB will decide if you require to engage a PE(Civil) to endorse on the hacking. (which will involve some costs which can range from $300 to $1k depending you find on your own or leave it to the contractor.)

It is up to HDB to decide if PE(Civil) is needed or not. I have contacts if you requires a PE(Civil).

Item 35 - to demolish half height wall -> For this item, is it to demolish half of a full height wall? Take note, if your house is a new flat with new types of partition wall, demolishing half of a full height wall might not be possible. (which HDB will decide after you submit your documents for their approval.). One of the solution if you still want a half height wall is to take down the whole wall and rebuild the half height wall.
