Aircon Repair & Servicing

Recommended Posts

On 9th Jan our aircon compressor stopped responding, we contacted Ivan 98516340 from Kao Yi General contractor to arrange aircon service (later found out that he's from flexcool as well) . Ivan advised to off and on main power and to change new unit if still not working. Compressor start working but still not cold.We asked for aircon replacement quote just in case need to replace it. Ivan quoted a mitsubishi starmex sys 3 recon set that's 4-5years old @ $900 for dismantling and installation and arranged to check if our bracket and all rooms are suitable to install. His techician advised to change away our original europace aircon set as he claimed that the aircon usually pose many issues. On 12Jan, existing europace aircon was replaced with the recon set. On 16 Jan, recon aircon stopped working, Ivan arranged to check and said could be pipe issue and advised to change new sys 3 aircon at $3600 - $400 (collecting back recon set) or to change all pipe at $1600. We compared price with few companies and realize that Ivan hiked up his price before lowering. Due to this, we couldn’t trust him anymore hence get another aircon servicing company to confirm the issue. After check, the service guys said the recon aircon is confirmed to be around 20year old and not 4-5years as claimed. Gas leaked from master room pipe and the aircon compressor. Other bedroom no issue and he disconnected master room’s pipe to further test if compressor will work well. When asked for explanation about the aged aircon, Ivan claim his aircon was 4-5year old when he collected but he kept for 20years. Ivan claimed he will be fully responsible if report shows that aircon has issue. Pressure test was done on 28 Jan and on 3 Feb aircon isn’t cold again. Ivan saw the report and claim it’s wrong for other contractor to check his work and will arrange an appointment from 17-19 Feb to take a look. Would you guys be able to accept this? It’s a nightmare engaging Kao Yi Contractor or flexcool who is still under the same boss- Ivan. He can twist and turn story to himself sound right and avoid solving the problem immediate.  Just be careful guys

Aircon servicing is a very topical topic. It is difficult to find honest guys who really know how to do their job. I can't do without air conditioning because I am rather sensitive. But no matter what quality air conditioner I buy, they still break down. Previously, I often changed aircon servicing companies until a neighbor advised me to contact a team of professionals. They have a very convenient website socool.sg where you can look at the types of work performed and find out contacts. Now I use only their services and I am very satisfied.

Luckily, I found this forum. I was looking for aircon servicing, but I couldn't choose a good one. Update! My air conditioning system is finally fixed. It turned out that there was something with the electricity connection. Apparently, guys who installed the aircons did something wrong. It's been only a month since we upgraded the system. However, after https://www.airconservicingsingapore.com/chemical-overhaul/ everything works perfect now. So people, I advise you to check any service for reviews to get a qualified worker. If we don't talk about bad done work than other people will suffer from it. So let's share our experiences. 😀

Hey, recently i had just engaged a really good company. They were professional enough to explain the fault of my aircon clearly to me. And as my air con was really not fixable , they had also provided a vast variety of brand of air con for me to choose from. I decided to go with their service for the replacement of my aircon cause they are really professional and the price was also reasonable. You can check them out if you like... Their website is www.centuryaire.sg. Hope this helps. ?
