Looking For Teak Furniture

Recommended Posts

There's a shoplot along 28, Lorong Ampas (behind Shaw Plaza @ Balestier) that sells teak furniture, Colonial Antuque.

I pass that place almost daily but didn't have to urge to go in... as not getting teak furnitures for our condo - wrong theme. Go and have a look.

p/s : they had that sales banner there since I moved in Nov 2009 :) ie... everyday's a sales day!!

Yup, Colonial Antique has a web site : www.charislife.com, can take a look.

Besides Scanteck, another nice teak furniture source, but not cheap. Mainly recycled teak. http://www.d-bodhi.com/

These are those more refined teak design furniture around in Singapore, unlike those normal handmade type..

Recycled teak in general more ex, & typically lighter than planted teak, as the wood is very well seasoned & moisture level is very low

cheer

no GST, free delivery if your order exceeds $500, or if your item is big. i bought white dresser and 2 white bedside table for total $897 only.

In general, Most teak wood furniture in Singapore is handmade (made by hand in Indonesia), & the finishing is quite rough un-refined, depend on your liking, some like the rough raw rusty look, some do not. Higher end teak furniture (Scanteak, d-bodhi etc) has very smooth & nice design/finishing, mainly machine made, join are perfect, drawer is smooth.. surface is silk smooth.. nail hole is nicely seal etc etc

It's all depend on individual choice & preference... of cos, the price is vary too...

i do find the opening of the drawers not very smooth... but i guess i just make do. what to do, cheap ma, and the only type that i see in singapore that i like, yet friendly to my wallet. hehe.

I think you should try Wrought iron patio furniture....is a perfect choice for outdoor patio furniture because it's sturdy and is usually treated to be resistant to rust. Wrought iron tables look good with any style of decor and it will coordinate with just about anything. You can be sure that with good quality wrought iron patio sets, you'll get years of unlimited use from your wrought iron furniture.

You could try Journey East (www.journeyeast.com).

They carry a brand called d-Bodhi (www.d-bodhi.com) which uses Recycled Teak (and other recycled material).

Some pictures I got from the website:
