who did you approach? can share with me?

I approached Legates, Degrilles, Skygrilles.... and Endogrilles (but they not in the finest)

Degrilles & Endogrilles reply with the quotes was fast! 3pm sent, approx 3.15pm there's someone replied with the quotes! For Sky grilles, they replied hours of later within the day but with Legates ah! My goddess, I waited for 3 days and on the third day I asked where is my quotes, the person replied me hours of later. Very slow in CS really.

Hi all!  Are you referring to invisible grille? I approached several companies for quotation and would like to share my experience. it’s going to be a long one!

I am very surprised that different sales people even from the same company will provide differing measurement of your windows.

Ive requested to have casement invisible grille installed to protect my cat. Windows in my home total up to 198sqft!
My final selection is based on their

1) solution to my big windows with protruding handles.  Aesthetics look is quite important to me as I do not want such a thick window casement.
2) Service

3) Earliest installation date

Should you want to have fixed invisible grilles, your selection will definitely not be as complicated as mine.  I would also like to highlight that the service you get from different sales people within the same company really makes a difference.  So best if you can get a recommended sales person from your selected company.

 - Legate: The cheapest amongst all. But the biggest problem.  The PRC lady who came couldn’t speak English so well and didn’t make an effort to converse with me.  My contractor had to act as a translator.  I immediately lost confidence in this company as she’s unable to understand my questions or bothered to understand my concerns.  She’s terrible at listening and prefers to talk her way through in a language I couldn’t understand.  She was also haggling with my contractor who said she doesn’t understand him.  He’s a proficient Chinese speaker yet she didn’t bother to hear him.
Afterwards, I didn’t hear from her for several days and when I texted her she had to ask who am I😅 I had to chase her for the quote.

Despite the negative experience, due to their reasonable pricing, I decided to give them another go and requested for another sales person on site.  The guy named Chow who came was more trustworthy and professional and able to understand my concerns.  Really would compliment this guy.  However, his measurements differ from the previous lady (who didn’t measure my windows right and quoted a much cheaper price).  This inconsistency puts me off and the guy was not able to offer me what the lady did.  However, he was honest and insisted I cannot have bifold casement in my kitchen as it won’t open.  That’s not what the lady said.  I felt that she just wanted to do the sales.
Take note Legate also has GST and the earliest installation is more than a month.
My overall verdict is that they are a big company with many customers that the quality and service provided has been compromised.

As Chow honestly admitted that for my windows, they can only do 7cm protruding casement, I decided to look at other companies.  Should you still want to proceed with Legate, ask for Chow.  He will give honest feedback.

- Sky Grille: Leonard came to measure.  He is in most of their YouTube videos.  Trustworthy sales guy and very professional.  Their pricing is very reasonable and in comparison to Legate.  About $21/sqft for casement.  However, I did not succeed in negotiating with them my final offer 😅 and I was worried that their cable tension won’t be as tight.  Not very sure if they have GST.  Leonard was able to provide quotation immediately at my home. Very efficient and accurate.  Should you want hassle free quotation seek for Leonard.  He was pretty reasonable and likeable and I can recommend him.

- IGC: David their boss arrived at my site. (I was told he rarely takes measurement but because they are busy he’s helping).  He was sharp and immediately was able to provide me a solution for my big window. He suggested to install a reinforced horizontal cable so the tension is tighter and he was able to make the cable on the handle area a little wider.  Hence this will reduce my casement thickness. I was actually very impressed.  His thinking was very different from the others and provided creative solutions. For my smaller windows he suggested fixed grille and again will make the cables around the handle wider for me. The previous 2 vendors did not think of these ideas.  David was so genuine and passionate.  But perhaps due to his innovative solution, comes with a heavier price tag.  $24.90/sqft for casement and $17.90/sqft for fixed.  Should I reduce the number of windows, the pricing also increase.  Thus far the most expensive out of the 3.  Despite not having GST, the quoted price is still higher than the other companies with GST.  They also have a small fee of powder coating cost for casement grilles.  But I do believe in their quality as they’ve been around for some time and have great reviews on Google. Quotation response came the same day however not accurate.  So please do vet through carefully. They did apologise for their mistake though. Earliest installation can be done in 3 wks.

- Ihsing: Not a well known company.  My friend installed mosquito net as cat grille from them. That’s how I get to know about them.  I intend to get the same sturdy mosquito net frame from this company to reduce my invisible grille cost but they also do invisible grille and other cool innovative ideas like sun blind that the above companies don’t offer.  Kevin came with an assistant and brought all the samples!  He was professional and spared some time to listen to my concerns and provided solutions.  Kevin also immediately suggested the horizontal reinforcement invisible grille to tighten the tension.  Suggesting that these representatives from these companies really care about their customers.  Kevin was also genuine and very patient with me with my many questions😅  I highly recommend this company and Kevin.  Please check out their YouTube videos.  Very impressive.
The mosquito net frame is very affordable.  However, for the powder coating of casement invisible grille it’s an additional min of $350 which is more than 4xs expensive than IGC.  I think this company doesn’t specifically specialise in invisible grille perhaps more of the other products.  I was told the cables they used are nylon.  Kevin is however very knowledgeable and passionate about his other products.  Take note that this company has GST. Earliest installation date can be done in 2 wks.

It was a very tough decision for me and I was very tempted to try out differing vendors for the invisible grille to test their workmanship and quality😂  All the guys were likeable and know their product well.  I had to strike legate out first as I cannot wait that long for installation or have 7cm casement protruding and I question their quality.
Sky grille informed me they can’t take the job due to my budget and I didn’t go back to them.

In the end I chose IGC for invisible grilles despite the most expensive even more than Skygrille due to Mr David’s solution and he really stood out to me.  I actually already declined them due to their cost but Mr David was still so kind and offered his assistance should I need help.  I do take service heavily in considering my final decision. I felt comfortable with Mr David and I was also not very easy on him too😅 too many questions and concerns but he was very very patient.  As it way exceeds my budget, for my other smaller windows I decided to go with ihsing’s sturdy mosquito frame.

I am still nervous about the final outcome which will be installed in early Nov! I really hope Mr David is true to his words in the quality of his product😊

I can’t believe I spent a lot of time researching on grilles and spending alot of $ just for my cat😅

Let me know should anyone want to hear on my progress post installation😊

Meantime, I wish you all the best in your selection!

Fyi, I also made a watsapp quotation with Endo grilles and Diamond grilles but they cost too much.

I thought to use the services of this company, but found many negative reviews. Strange ... Maybe they have changed their communication policy or have a lot of haters. I believe that all those negative comments are lies.
