Whole House Renovation or Split Area/scopes into 2-3 times reno

Hello~ need some advice from those who have experiences on reno especially A&A.. i am planning to carry out a reno for my 20 yo HDB flat. I'm more inclined towards whole house reno at one go, but that also means that i will have to move all stuffs out and find a temporary accommodation, and that could cost a bomb. My husband suggested to split the scopes into 2~3 times in a year or two, i.e. 1) kitchen + bathrooms, 2) master + child room, 3) guest room + living including laying vinyl. That means we don't have to move out temporarily and can save some $$, only need to spend on some disposal + storage for bigger items... 

Any advice and experience to share please? What are the pros & cons for the split scope reno? Thanks in advance!
