  1. Whole hse plastering does it included the ceiling, if yes, go for it.

    Yes it include the ceiling...

but what i mean is if he add additional cost for plastering the kitchen den its not that worth bah ?

since we can use his "Whole House PLastering" from his initial quote to say him... haha, kitchen is part of the "whole house" ma :P

  2. One more thing is his initial quote for plastering of whole house is $1400.

I find that since he wrote "Plastering of whole house" in his initial quote, then this additional kitchen plastering shld not add in anymore further cost

What do you guys think for the price of $1400 plastering of a 4 Room A Flat.

  3. No worries just plaster over the tiles as long as the condition of the tiles are ok, such as no deep cracks lines and hollow tiles etc. For backing, u can ask yr contractor to do tiling on the hob area, if not go for glass panel, aluminium or stainless etc. As long as is cheap and nice. The purpose for tiles in the kitchen apart from aesthetic looks, is meant for easy to clean after heavy cooking. If you can confirm that yrs will be light cooking then just plaster over it.

The tiles around the area where the hob is already popped out... duno izzit due to years years of heating near the cooking stove.

He use a coin to knock knock the other tiles around the kitchen, seems ok, no hollow...

saw your post in this thread :

    http://www.renotalk.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=22644

Wanted to find out more about this Palace Lights as I was shock to read this thread :

    http://www.renotalk.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=19053

Hows your review of Palace Lights and Strass ? Heard they are same Boss open de but registered different name...

MANY many bad reviews about them even in SGBride forum

  5. hmmmm

can PM me the name on the name card ?

actually my 2 visits to this shop they not bad leh,

not only they auto gib us bottles of drinks...(although this is nothing, but I went to so many shops along Balestier, only this shop and another one serve us lidat)

the person that entertain my family also help us plan how many downlights we need based on the floorplan I provide.

He show us lots of pictures in his photo album and advise us how to tell our contractor to build different width of L Box, bla bla bla, he talk and advise alot...

Thats why I am shock to find this thread, I haven place order from them though, duno their "after payment service"

It has been some time since the last post in this thread... anyone that bought from this shop also pls give inputs. Thanks

  6. I just went there today...

hmmm I tot I will be getting from them base on their wholesale pricing...

seriously, the price might be cheap but they have limited designs compared to other shops.

(walk the shops of balsteria, you will know)

I only like the Ice Cube light from the shop.

As I am getting light for my whole house. I will get the quotation from different shops, another shop offer $100 lesser den lighting.com. (might not be the same model BUT with much much more varieties to choose from)

Other shop is you buy more, they cut more, Lightings.com is wholesale price, buy more also no further discounts, so, if you are buying quite alot, might not be ideal to get from them, less designs also.

  7. I am looking to buy

furnitures like bedframes, bedside tables, dressing table, the basic bedroom necessities...at a reasonable price.

Best is got package to take...but I dont want the wardrobe lol

Any furniture shops to recommend and any to avoid ? lol

Been to the major ones like IKEA, V.Hive, Brighton so far...

Please help... just state any that comes to your mind or have personally purchase from them. :D

    Thanks

  8. the weight capacity think depends on the hook size bah...

The packaging will state the max wt.

My clock faces cover the hooks behind, so can't see the ugliness of the hooks

me add a blue tag ball behind the clock to add thickness, so the clock wont hang 45deg (slanting, facing down)

but in 90 deg, flat facing...hehe.. hope it helps :P

yup i know the packaging will state the max weight it can take.

lets say we wan to hang ard 2 kg, dun tink got this amt ba ...

anyway I am thinking use two 1kg hooks to make 2kg lidat can anot ah ? lol

  9. Rinnai Stove not good. After use for about 2 years, stove will rust.

When I give feedback, the customer service people told me is chrome coating below the black burner head. Why not stainless steel?

Very disappointed with Rinnai stove's quality. Not only the fire is too strong for slow cook soup, the stove's rings also rusty. Not worth the money.

    Wah...

    serious ah...

    hmmm

guess i go for Ellane liao lah :D

  10. When I went recce the WC and basins for my reno, one of the shop owner told me theres this thing call "offset" for WC that prevents the smell from coming up, something circular...

Paiseh, what is this thing's real name actually, does it affect the smell that much ?

  11. my my...

I am bad with colours, lol

I am leaving the painting to my contractor, but I hav to tell him what colours to paint ma, headache,

I see the trend is not to paint the whole room/area same colour, lol :P

which shld be the deciding factor and consider the main wall...

  12. My Kitchen wall is also painted. Actually most of the wall surface will be covered by the kitchen cabinet, fridge, backsplash, washing machine etc... will be quite a waste of money to use tiling since it is extremely expensive to do so. Painting is easier, cheaper and it works well. Just choose the paint that is washable.

I have seen your T blog, nice...

yup will discuss with my contractor
