Paid around $80 SGD, inclusive of shipping from UK (by sea), that's why took a long time. Limited choices though, cos not every seller is willing to ship worldwide ... can only bid for those that do so ... a lot of these antique phone sellers are from USA and is only shipping within USA. And hor, also realised that there is one local seller, grandmaphone selling antique phones on ebay also .. and is offering 1 month after sales warranty.. if buy from overseas no guarantee ... This yellow phone up for bidding also not bad ... starting bid $70... Yellow Rotary dial phone Shen bao zi yue? Radio show ?? Keke ... if now use the rotary dial to call in radio station to answer questions sure lose out and unable to call in ... other ppl just press re-dial.. Yepz is a engineering software, more for product design ... not suitable for doing floorplans .. cos have to model every littile thing ... the sofa, the cushions, and table etc , u see in my pic are all modelled individually and assembled to the room. Tedious ... That's why do half way, I gave up ...

ID is Ideal Design Studio. So far only bought a sofa @ Species Home Furnishing .. Just saw a thread from a worried forummer on her delivery after she read about the Mesin incident as Species is a relatively new company.. think I am gg to arrange for delivery asap after my reno complete as well .. Cupboards, study room table are custom-made... no bedframe cos we will be doing a platform in the master bedroom. Major items left to buy: Dining table, TV console & coffee table... was tempted to get everything from Species but a bit ex although we quite like what they have. We even like the lights & chandeliers they have in their showroom .. but then is better to get the lights from vendors that sell lights .. haaa cos a walk along balestier, we saw the same lights selling at much lower price .. there is a hefty sum to pay for the convenience of getting everything under one roof. Oh yar bought one cute retro phone from overseas on ebay ... it recently arrived after abt 2 mths.. thought lost in transit liaoz. Was so happy when it finally arrived. It is working after my father-in-law changed the wire to one suitable for use in s'pore .. but unfortunately the ringer doesn't work haa .. but I dun mind ... overall still very pleased with the purchase... although it takes very long to make a call with the rotatry dial. Haha Went to your blog and read on your reno plans as well... think u are very hardworking to start planning and doing homework liaoz .. but is a good thing becos with knowledge, the ID will not be able to "chop" you and jack up the price ... My husband and I not so onz, cos we intending to officially move in next yr only after our customary dinner ... we only started to check and update our defect list more than 1 mth after we get the keys.. luckily not too many defects. As for the ID selection, we are also relatively fast... just compare quotes with 2 ID company and 1 contractor... Hopefully, did not make the wrong choice. I am staying at Blk 272D . Was choosing between this blk and the 273 blocks ... the 273 floorplans are better.. more squarish. Somehow, we chose 272 cos higher level units are available. What abt you? From your blog, read that you got the turbo hood and hob set which I am aiming to get... What is your feedback on the set ?? My mother-in-law tells me that ellane hob is good .. but i think their designs not as nice. Yeah... do keep a lookout for more pics coming up .. Hihi, Yepz... our location is even better than the Quartz @ Buangkok . But unfortunately, we dun have car haa

The shoe rack serves as a small bar counter as well, that why we use solid top .. thinking that next time we can also use the bar table to eat since there are only 2 of us .. dun need to use the dining table unless there is a gathering... Although eating on top of a shoe rack is quite weird .. haaa .. hope it does not add extra aroma to my food. Keke.. We did not do a feature wall to hide the bomb shelter so no space to put the shoe rack like some ppl do ... Thanks everyone for the chops and comments Geryl, you are right. I am from Atrina also.. Ya lor, corner units so the rooms are all slanted one .... Sunset, it is a new flat that comes with flooring..so saved some $$ on that. Will post more pics as the reno progresses... Hope the green turns out to be ok to give a refreshing feel haa... Pro b, I am using solidworks because I use the software at work... if you are interested to model in 3D and dun have solidworks... can try Google Sketchup ... free software to download and use ..... can learn how to use thu' reading their online tutorials. Not bad...

Harlow, welcome to the green house Starting a t-blog to share the ups and downs of my on-going renovation .... 2D floorplan 3D floorplan - roughly modelled out our flat when we first started planning Hacked off 3 walls to make way for the open concept study room, cupboard and mini bar table as shown in the pic .... Currently, the hackings are already completed. My diligent parents-in-law who are staying nearby have been stopping by for QC checks .. haa PE costed $500 ... Initially, was charged $650 but when we expressed that it is on the high side, $150 was absorbed. Mixed feelings on this .... The L-shaped glass panel to be installed in the living room gave us headache ... Just realized that the longer side of the L-panel is abt 3.3m ... too long to be fitted in a HDB lift and so the panel have to be cut into smaller size and there will be connecting lines ... Spoil the whole look ID says even taking the stairs is not an option ... cos too long .. no space to maneuver and besides, it will cost a bomb to transport up my floor. We wished the issue was highlighted to us during earlier design discussion when options are still open. ID provided us with three conceptual renderings, one for the kitchen, bedroom and study room ... We are generally happy with the study room design but have requested changes to the kitchen and bedroom... still waiting for the finalized rendering.... Something which I did using 'paint' ... to convey what I have in mind to the ID ... Okie.. that's all for now. Shld be able to update the blog again after I received the finalized drawing...

Hi, Is there coloured pvc or colored polyken? And what are the color options? Thinking of having a coloured kitchen cabinet interior. However, ID says it is only achievable using laminate and it is an overkill since noboby else will see it except the owners. Agree tat it is not a necessity but is definitely a nice touch to the owner. So would like to know the available options and not to be brushed off by the ID just becos it is easier for them to use white PVC. Is my understanding correct that -- pvc is the cheapest, followed by polyken and laminate being the most expensive? Thanks.

Hi, My ID is not Andy, however, you can refer to previous threads by petertan_petertan http://www.renotalk.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=10057 http://www.renotalk.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=14547. He has good reviews for Andy. -
Hi porkypig, Thanks for sharing your experience. How long have you been using your hood? Does it gives you any problems so far?
-
Hi, Thanks for the reply... Ya .. my husband is also concern about the warranty being voided. So we have decided to put the hood up for sale .. http://www.renotalk.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=16278 If unable to sell off, then will consider cutting it ...

Hi, Would like to check if it is okay to allow the contractor to shorten the chimney below the recommended min. length specified in the catalog. My ID mentioned that since we bought the hood already, he can get the contractor to cut it. Will it have major impact on the performance of the suction? Now trying to decide whether to try to sell off the chimney hood instead .... because the kitchen space is also very tight. Will appreciate if anyone can share their experience. Thanks.

Hi, I was down at their showroom yesterday. There is a promotion for a L-shape sofa that my husband and I liked.. 20% off for 3 sets only ... ( although dunno if it is true haaa since this kind of "must buy today to enjoy discount gimmick" is everywhere but the sales personnel who served us assured us that the promotion is really for a limited period of time) She sounded sincere and not really pushy cos she told us to go around and check out other stores as well before making the decision, it seems believable that it is indeed a good deal. So my husband and I walked around to check out other stores... saw one sofa that has the same design as the one we saw in species so we asked for the price ... is about 2k more than the promo price quoted at species... I am not an expert in funiture, so although they may look the same but perhaps different leather quality, that's why the huge price difference.... Anyway, in the end, we went back to species to get the sofa .. but we are required to pay in full... not sure if that is a usual practice .. cos I also have the impression that usually a deposit is suffice ...

Hi, Just signed with them, feel that the ID consultant whom we deal with is quite nice, experienced and not pushy. We did not compare too many quotes, just three of them... 2 ID companies and the third one is a contractor. Did not choose the contractor in the end as we felt that it will be better to have some ID input and advice although we already have a rough idea on what we want to do. Should be starting the reno in sept, after the ghost festival. Looking forward to see the 3D conceptual drawings in 2-3 weeks time. The experience with them is so far good and hope that it will continue the positive way ... will update on my comments again
