  1. The "EeeEee" sound usually came from your blower's motor. You try push up on the right side of the aircon unit where the blower motor are located, see whether the will disappear when you push it up. If the sound disappear more or less your blower's motor is going to spoil soon and the sound will get louder and louder. Get your aircon man to check, I have a aircon techician no. Pm me if you need it.

  2. Got this quote from Hong Tar. Is the price OK?

    Mitsubishi Electric (MXY3A28VA/MSXYGA10 x3) $2,850

    Fujitsu (AOYALAT3/ASYA9LA x3) $2,550

    Mitsubishi Heavy (SCM60ZG / SKM28 x3) $2,630

To supply and install the air-conditioners in surface mount with standard one roll copper pipe, ½ thick Class “O” thermaflex insulation for indoor unit and Class “1” black rubber insulation for outdoor unit, 16mm pvc pipe, pvc trunking and Singapore cable. Price excludes power point, stainless steel bracket and any items not mentioned.

Frankly speaking he is giving you all the good materials and the price is reasonable. I do know that Hong Tar has alot of Msia workers and I do not know how good is their workmanship.

  3. hi,

How does the booster works? This is because I have just renovated my resale flat. As this is a old flat, its only have 1 original SCV point outside my flat. I request a 5 SCV in my house. The electrician did not install a booster but spilt it into 5 individual point, as a result, the signal is very weak. Although I have a full HD TV, the image is not sharp on certain channels (eg, channel U, CNA etc). Anyone knows how to resolve this issue?

I have just talked to my uncle who is a SCV contractor. He told me that you need a booster to boost all your 5 SCV points. It will cost you $150. If you want his number i can pm to you :dancingqueen:

  4. Hi Guys, currently my house is running on a Carrier system 3 (Millenium series) bought almost 8 years back. Currently, the one in the materbed room is having some problem. It is not cold.

I just have the thermister replaced, top up the aircon gas about 1 month ago and now it's not cold again. Wondering whether it's the compressor that's leaking. The other 2 rooms a/c are still working fine.

Should I just get someone to replace the whole set to a system 2 as one room hardly use or is it cheaper to just repair the existing problem?

If I am to change the aircon, thinking of getting Toshiba system 2 with 3 ticks. Will there be a substatial saving in electricity bills as I on my 2 aircons at least 8 hours a day?

Aircon can last to more than 15yrs, wear and tear sure got la. Ask the aircon man to check for you, if is aircon leak, i suggest u to change the whole thing. If other problems, just stick to the repairing route, it is always cheaper to spend a few more K to install the whole system. And now the inverter system maybe electrical saving but repairing cost is higher than non-inverter system buy around 2 times. The inverter aircon refrigerant (R410a), charge by my aircon contractor $50/units. And the non-interverter aircon refrigerant (R22) only $20/units. If you want my aircon contractor number can pm me =) No harm getting another quote.

  5. Hi All,

I had a LG art cool air con (24000btu with invertors ) installed for my living room in March last year.

We seldom turn on the air con and just 2 weeks ago the air was not cold anymore.. we called in the contractor who installed the air-con and after checking, he mentioned that the compressor is not working and need to be replace!! :( He said that i need to get in touch with LG since it is under warranty.

The problem is that i realised that i do not have the warranty card as i had all the paperwork done through my interior designer previously.. They insisted that they have provided me with the warranty card..

I called up LG and a technician is supposed to come over and check. Anyone with similar experiences with faulty compressor and if LG would honour the warranty based on delivery order/serial number?

    Thks!

YEs! You must have the warranty card with you. So now you are as good as no warranty =X Anyway if you wan aircon contractor number can pm me =)

  6. Hi guys and gals,

anyone gt contacts for air con installer.. meaning.. i gt the systems but they don provide installation so now onli need air con guys to help me install...

sound weird.. but can anyone help?

    TIA :yamseng:

How come you end up buying the system only? If you buy and install it seperately is may end up more costly then those , buy and install package. How much you brought ur aircon system?

  7. Just to add a comment for the dripping part , it may due to the poor piping installation like my ex owner , no gradient slope for the pipe thus water cant flow away , this may be a good chance to ask your people to check it out

    Yea you are right.

Here are more reasons that lead to water leaking,

    1) Installation of fan coil unit slanted to one side

    2) The copper pipes insulation located below the aircon unit has wore off.

    3) Sunlight shining directly on your aircon unit.

    4) Your aircon is dirty!
