  1. Hi guys, my platform bed had arrived much earlier than expected.

Those guys in hommage is commendable, I had much worries initially as it was their policy to pay 50% upfront. I was thinking what if they close their business...I placed the order on 26 Dec and was told that my bed would only arrive somewhere before CNY.

On 13th, someone calls me up and advise me that the shipment will arrive on 18th. I thought to myself, wow I had never encounter same treatment from other furniture shops...usually I will have to call up and ask. On 14th, another person from hommage calls up and advise me the shipment arrival date again. A little surprise this time, I didn't expect them to call me twice...though very kiasu but this is the kind of service that consumer wants.

I received the bed yesterday....very nice bed and I like it very much. I will definitely recommend to my friends.

    here's my review for them:

    Service: 9/10

Price: 8/10 (i saw the same bed elsewhere with a much higher price)

    Communication: 9/10

  2. As expected my delivery got delayed again! they promised to sent down today and i have specially taken off today. they say will give me a call to confirm the timing yesterday. waited the whole day but they didn't call. so i call them up just now. their usual excuse, container got delayed and the earliest they can send is on the 8th. and my worst nightmare came true, i amgoing to have my housewarming without my bed.

I guess they should at least have the courtesy to give the customer a call informing them about the delay rather than you call up after a long wait. A day leave is money and it comes in handy when you have more important things whereby you need to apply for the leave.

  3. Hi, I am relatively new on this forum. Will move into our 4-room HDB flat in Jurong West in April. As the flat is already quite well renovated, we only budget $15K-$20K for the renovation. After reading so many good comments on IntraDesign, I wonder if the the level of service one receives has anything to do with one's budget. Has anyone been treated differently by Intradesign because of the low budget? Please advise. Thanks very much.

I guess it is unlikely to receive different treatment base on the budget. It is the reputation that intradesign is upholding. Of cos, the ultimate choice is still yours. No harm contacting them for a quote, if their attitude is not what you expected, you can always switch to another ID firms.

Anyway, congrats to you on your new home!

  4. I did the same last weekend - bedframe plus cofee table and TV console. Met with Charles from Hommage at their showroom near Potong Pasir MRT. Same thing was said to me - 50% deposit, remainder due after delivery (some relief there).

4 - 6 weeks lead time, delivery before CNY.

haha good luck to both of us!

  5. the kitchen?

it wasnt in our plan to conceal to save cost. in fact the pipes were exposed as well but it was later conceal. that wire cant be conceal because the rest is just walls.

No not only the kitchen but the hall as well...

Not true, actually a good electrician is able to conceal the wires inside the wall.

The wires in my place is fully concealed be it real concrete walls or boards.

But of course, the cost may be a few hundred more..

  6. Went down to hommage as per forumer's recommendation.

Bought a platform bedframe just by looking and choosing from the catalogue and paid 50% deposit.

But was advised that the bed frame will only be delivered a month later or before CNY.

Just keep my fingers crossed and hope they honoured their words....

Anyone out there having bad experience with them before?

  7. Anyone out there any lobang for nice platform bed frame? I once saw it at YIN HE but it seems that this furniture shop is no longer existing?

Saw a few at Full House Furniture shop recently but not really to my liking. Furthermore, it will only arrive after 18 Jan (one month later) not sure whether they will still be there after taking the deposits..nowadays furniture shops close down very fast.

  8. Hi Stagger , I am searching for ID , is Irene good ?

hihi Shan, sorry for the late reply as I've not been logging in recently.

Yes Irene is good and responsible, she's very responsive to my calls, smses or emails.

Not sure about others but I'm happy with her attitude and we are just like friends.

I've moved in to my new place since 14 Jun (just nice, exactly one month now) and everything is fine. I had a housewarming 2 Saturdays ago and my friends commented that my place is really well done up.

Do let pm me if you want to see photos...

    Cheers.

  9. On the recommendation from the forumer and my ID, I wen down to Jimmy Textile at Tanjong Katong complex on 22 May. True enough, I was served by a sale guy who will explain the different types of material to me. I asked if the curtains can be ready and delivered by 30 May and he said no problem.

On 30 May, I was happily waiting for my curtains to arrive (note: I'm not living at my new place yet) on Sat and indeed, those guys arrived on time with some curtains but advise me that the roman blinds are still not ready. I've paid 50% deposit and being nice, I told them that's fine, shall give them another week which they say would call me on Monday (1 June) to rearrange a timing to deliver (they took back the whole curtains).

I gave them a call yesterday to check, a lady picked up the call and advise that she has to check with the guy who sold me the curtains and that she couldn't give any confirmation to me and promise to call me back but never do so.

This morning, I sms the sales guy and ask him to check and confirm the delivery and he merely reply my sms with an "ok" and that's all and almost half day gone still no answer.

I was thinking whether is this the service I expect? Before I place the deposit, everything is ok, sure can, even I ask him twice whether he can make it for the curtains in a week. Next, nobody even call me to tell me that the Roman blinds are not ready until when the delivery man came to tell me that. Wonder if anyone here had the same experience?

  10. 1) Dun deal with Propnex agents who have given very bad service. As far as I know, they will try ALL sorts of ways to make the sellers and buyers move out of their houses as soon as possible. You can private message me for the one whom we had to deal with.

    2) Remember to check with your agent whether GST is included in agent's 2% commission. We did not know that agent's commission is GST liable as they work under the company.

As long as they are working under a registered company, GST is inevitable as your cheque (commission) is payable to their company and not in the agent's name.

Two ways to tackle with this:

    1. Negotiate with the agent to see if they can absord the GST (in most of the cases, quite impossible).

    2. Tell the agent to put down 1% on wriitten agreement and tell him that you will pay the other 1% under his name (provided he agree to do so, because he bears the risk of you not honouring your words). In this case, you only need to pay GST for that 1% payable to his company.

Not sure if it works, just my opinion.

  11. Yar, I oso think these bad agents, if they come up with those silly tales, they will not bother to give u a rejection notice etc. Best is to write to the owner! Tell them your offer and ask them to call u if they are interested. In that way, they may really know the true colours of their agent!

Not sure if this is ethical for the buyer to do so? Also, will it breach any rules or policies and will get the potential buyer into trouble? If no, then it should be a great idea..just slot your info + offer into their letterbox haha

  12. Hey hey! You are right manz! On top of that, being dave's clients, you have to make a payment of 50% + 50% even b4 the works get started. And was told that if i am uncomfortable with his payment scheme, i can approach his other colleagues?! 8|

To be fair, I think most firms require payments before work starts. Otherwise, they may have cash flow problem if all the clients don't pay up or delay payment after work is done. Not sure why yours was 50% +50%, mine is 50% before start of the hacking and laying of tiles and 40% upon finishing the first stage but before proceeding to the carpentry works and 10% upon taking over. Some others offered me 50%+45%+5% so it really depends.

As for my reno work, so far I'm happy with their work and also their attitude is commendable. My ID calls me up for updates on what has been done and what's the next step. Next week, my carpentry will start and if you need to see some pictures for reference, please pm me.
