must trace before hack.Had cases happen before.
Father bought a condo. When the contractor up the kitchen cabinet. They accidentally drill a small gas on the pipe.
No one know, as the pipe is hide behind.
Son come back, sleep in his room and never wake up.
After this incident. For condo, it is a must to provide DWG for the gas pipe location.
New HDB.. I don't know liao.
Thanks Therat. I also think should trace before hack.
Are there some practice guidelines I can show them?
The contractor is denying any fault saying that it is concealed.
-
Mine leak last time. New house.Cornice say, electrician, electrician say ask ID.
Ah, finally never use City gas, just the tank type
Tracing is tedious job, bubble test ? But must hack wall le.
Easier to add new pipe.
Hi, the gas was turned off before the hacking started.
But the holes in the gas pipe are obvious. It seems to me that they did not take the precaution of tracing the pipe manually as I described above.
Now I have extra cost to bear to look for a licensed gas contractor to relay the pipe.
What I would like to know is if this is normal practice to hack without tracing the pipe?

Hi friends,
The above happened to me during the hacking of wall tiles.
Although I am no contractor, I would have thought that they should have traced how the gas pipe runs in the wall from the outlet by manually removing the surface tile and plaster. Can anyone advise how this is usually done?
Thanks friends.

Hi, I received this quotation from my electrician for a condo.
1. Supply 4 2x18W recessed lights Renzo brand
2. Wiring and installation for the above in false ceiling
3. 2 steps switching, turn on 2 lights, then 4 lights.
Quotation $300.
I think a little high. Can I have your opinion as to what is a reasonable price?
Thanks friends.

Hi friends,
Tried this mattress at Robinsons yesterday. Asking $2210 after $400 off and extra card holders $100 off. Extra 5% card holder not included yet. Almost bought it but decided to hold off. I know the mattress names are different in other places. Am just wondering if anyone has bought this one and made a price comparison with other shops which sell a very similar or same Simmons mattress under a different name?
Thanks

Hi,
What type of materials do you use for the cabinet and doors? Do you use chipboard, MDF or solid plywood?
What is your per foot run cost for each type?
Are you able to make recessed doors like this?

The SONY 52" Z4500 is finally home, ordered it at price of 3299, one day before delivery, the price dropped to 2999, lucky enough still got 300 shopping voucherYeah, price dropping because of the 3D releases over the weekend. That life though. Enjoy it because I think it will be a few years before 3D really takes hold.

Hello friends,
I am looking at making some curtains for my new place.
Now I know there is a wide range of different types of curtain fabrics available and the price range is also very wide.
Can someone shed some light on what to look for and why one would pay for a 'better quality' curtain than a cheaper type?
Thanks
-
Hi KSJL,i noticed that there is a gap in the middle when you've drawn the curtains together. I would like to check this is the norm (as in a gap in between) or is it because the curtains were not drawn properly? My friend's place curtains have the same issue ie, the gaps in between and she resorted to using a clothes peg to hold the curtains together.
I have experience with a curtain without a gap in the middle. I did not like it because I could not open the curtains when I wanted to. I prefer a gap.

How do you keep it straight? Is there a problem with bubbles under the wall paper?
I've always wanted to try but 'scared' I mess it up!

Very happy with the golden city decor. Their service is good
Do go and visit them if you intend to have wallpaper to decorate your house.

Hello friends, I notice that most kitchen cabinet styles nowadays are unframed and flat doors:

I am looking for the following framed kitchen cabinets with recessed doors:

I know that forest in Thomson plaza has them but they are asking a hefty $275 pfr and above! I wonder if anyone knows of other companies that can provide cheaper? Thanks

Hi, wondering if anyone used them? Please share quality of work, prices and how easy it is to work with them. Thanks

Hi friends,
I have 2 questions related to granite countertops:
1. Can you recommend a few firms where I can get reasonable priced granite?
2. What is the current market price?
3. Is it easy to coordinate this with the carpenter who will be doing my cabinets?
Thanks in advance friends. Cheers!

Need advise. Is stainless stell backing for kitchen difficult to maintain? I am afraid that there will be small ants or dirt slip through the glass backing in long run.Hi, I am thinking about it too. Where do you intend to get and how much? I heard its easier to clean than tiles but you must clean it well to maintain its shine and it scratches easily.
Cheers!
