No one cooks rice?
I'm using some old fashion one, takes 20 min or less to cook white rice.
Recently looking at Panasonic, Toshiba, Zojirushi. Though they are nice, but they take 45mins minimum to cook rice, that's too long!

The contractor did a bad job with the waterproofing 6 mths ago, simple as that.

Non of HDB's business ..
Just get a locksmith to open it first, then buy one and replace yourself, quite easy to DIY.
If not can pay someone to do it ...
-
You didn't state how you want to get it or how much you willing to pay per copy?
Mail to you? Meet up somewhere? Collect at seller's place? Send to your place?
If you put like $2/3 per copy, willing to collect at seller's place at their convenience, your mailbox will flood.
but if
free magazine, want to meet at some MRT for them to pass to you, who got time for that ... ;x
(Must be worth people's while la).

Hi i suggest u call up the company rather than blaming ur ID. did u even call up ur ID personally or the company before putting up this post? just to share, ur mentioned ID actually recently completed my resale flat in jurong west and i would say out of 5 IDs, his price quoted wasn't the cheapest, but not the most expensive. he did mention the 1k to see design, but at the same time he roughly quoted me and let me know how much it roughly cost for my renovation works and tell me to compare before engaging him as my ID. as i already did afew comparison before looking up for him, i engaged him. his design and service impressed my wife and i. so we finally agreed on the contract. though there were some hip-cups during renovation process by their workers, my ID solved it immediately. i admire his responsibilty and following up service. i would strongly recommend him to others who are looking for IDs. and i thank him for creating our dream house. You happy with the same ID can already what, what to do if other people not happy because of their personal experience and they post here?

Hi hi... i seldom post coz not really have access to internet very often. however, i woudl like to recommend my ID as i find that he deserve to be recommended.here is my story.
I just completed my reno. my ID is very very responsible. i have very very tight budget and wanted to 'maximise' and do as much as possible within my budget as mine was a 26 years old flat.
was indeed very surprised at this ID. He is unlike other ID which i met who will try cut your items to be done and do less things or rather coax you to choose the cheaper material and end up dun care if overall it makes your house look cheapo... he is very patient and willing to tell you the way to cut cost yet do not compromise with the overall feel and design of the house.
this is my 2nd home already and i can tell the huge difference as i have been to most reno firms in singapore. p/s: i will go all out to cut cost so i researched almost 6mth before i engage any contractor.
in the long and short. i am very happy and satisfied with the service which my ID provided. if you are interested in his contact, pls PM me.
i have moved in for 2months already. even when my lightbulb blow, my ID send a electrician to look at it very promptly. and he told me he warrant his services for 2 years for every home he is in charge of. basically i am very impress with this young man's committement and attitude throughout my house reno and after service.
just a brief list of items i have done.
1) tailor made and design grille for windows and main door.
2) hack entire floor and pipes and bathrooms and kitchen. overhaul of the entire house.
3) plaster all walls
4) i paint the walls and ceiling myself.
5) false ceiling whole house.
pls PM me for his contact. will be very glad to share his contacts with all of you who needs a reliable and patient ID.
Any photos or details?

He's right, one light point is one light.
If you have 20 lights in your living room, that's 20 lighting points, still have to wire them up individually even if you one switch control 20 lights.
Can try to ask for discount since you got so many?

Display nice, but a lot of complains in several forum, look elsewhere.
Late shipment or wrong design.

If not bright enough, can always have floor and table lamps to supplement, but you need spare power points around.

The company I think does not even know my house is renovated as they had never received any payment. All my payment to him is directly to my Mr. XXX Contractor. In the first place, when I asked him why I cannot write a cheque to his company, he boldly say that it is very troublesome as he need to ask someone from the Company to withdraw out the money so and so. He prefer direct dealing.Remember, when the Contractor ask for payment, make sure you write a cheque to his company to let them know his dealing or else if there is any disputes, the company does not even know you existed.
Agree with this, never pay the person cash, must issue cheque to the company and get a receipt.
But then cheque also dangerous, lawry's cheque also put out in public by his stupid contractor, if you read his blog.

best way to reslove reno disputes is through settlement liao. give & take ba. cos they are experienced enough when they passed you their contract to sign. they already jaga their backs liao. all the vague descriptions on materials , hidden costs, etc etc. once you sign on it. very hard battle liao. they can literally leave you in the lurch and still sue your for the $$ actually. is your reno completed? check on everything first, spend a few hours checking.note everything that needs to be rectified & where you get short-changed with or simply not satisfied by the finishing. then one shot go find the boss talk nicely try. let him know you are ready to pay once they get everything done proper & fast. hopefully he is not as rotten as that 'id'.When such things happen, first to do is to approach the press and the media.
Goods doesn't tally, feign ignorance, delay job, still want to sue the hand that is feeding them?
Such news when out in the headlines will make them wake up their idea.
$381fr is very expensive for kitchen carpentry actually.
todbee,
It's them who did wrongly first, that's why you hold back payment, not your fault.
You should call up the boss and talk to him personally about this issue and get him to settle, if not you will go to CASE and get them to mediate.

The dishdrainer can put dry plates only huh?
The solid surface is a different piece la.
Don't pay him the balance, since he act blur, you act blur also.
-
? How come you use the company name as your Tblog title???
-
To be frank, it's a waste of money to buy those nice fancy modern faceplates when you can't do hidden wiring ...
That fat box behind is not nice...
-
The price already set to their benefit, still got profit no matter what type of paint you choose.
Those who choose cheap paint, they earn more, choose expensive paint, they earn slightly less.
If you compare the price of vinilex and medifresh, doesn't cost an extra hand or foot.
Those who ask for top-up are very calculative, I would skip them immediately.
Who knows how much extra they will charge for your other things?

Do you want to use their hood/hob?
Unless you bought the house specifically because they have a nice kitchen which requires minimal renovation, then I suggest you fight it out with them ..
