  1. Hi, if anyone went to check on the Space N Living at IMM. Pls check the crook new name. Someone commented in the renotalk forum, that he met an ID (of that shop) whose work (tactic) description is so much like the crook we encountered. I don't know if all cheating ID cheats in the same way. But if found out the name, should inform all, and get it link up with victims from that shop.

  2. Hi all, for your info, i recently (last saturday) saw Kane Oh working in one of the ID firm at IMM called ??? living ?? spaces. The shop is next to the toilet near the carpark. I don't know if that is his shop, or is he working for someone else. Do note that he changes his name often, but maybe not his mobile no. I'm not sure either. Till date, after moving back to my house for 7mths (which he done half way, and anyhow do - ie. didn't give specific & proper instruction to the sub-con), i'm tackling with the post reno issues. Spent even more $$ than budgeted.

Although i've given up hope on getting back any compensation, but i feel general public should be informed of such crook around. Maybe should even avoid getting him to manage your reno project, eventhough he is working for others.

  3. Hi I'm so sorry to hear that. I am facing problem with contractor who didn't pay me after my work done. I try to find him but couldn't get him. I did go up to client's shop or house but they said they had settle full payment with the contractor. Really Frustrated!!!..

Hi, are you also a victim of Kane Oh Cheng Han? Please advice the person (& co. name) who cheated you of your labour. I've no qualm in believing that he will not pay the sub-contractors.

  4. Yes, have tried calling up SPH. But they are unable to publish his name of company and full name because they scared kanna sue. Cannot really help much. But one of the victims I have known had wrote to SPH's forum. But have no idea when they will publish it out.

If all victim meet up and write to the media, will there be any chance of getting it showcase? I see there are quite a a lot of victims from here. If there are so many of us, it will prove that he has intention to cheat. But of course it will take time and $$$. We have to also seek legal advice before going thru this. What do you think?

  5. Hi all, i heard that the Kane OH Cheng Han has changed his name to Jordon Oh, and the company name is now called Cup Living Pte Ltd. Could any victim of the mentioned co verify on this? This is very important, so that we can prevent any further victim if its true. Btw, one warning to existing victim of Kane (ie. still having work done by him), do keep all evidence, including cheques. He seems to know the legal loophole, as he will jolly well sign any compensation agreement, but will not pay you a single cent. REally curse him all the way. He really never thought about his next generation. They will be cursed by their fathers debt. KANE OH!! BEWARE OF RETRIBUTION!!!... 天有眼的. 报应不是不报, 只是时间为到.

Does anyone know any possibility of a collective sue against this crook? Do PM me.

  6. Dear all, please note if you have to issue cheque that is to Oh Cheng Han, do stop any further dealing with him. He can change his christian name, but he can never change his own surname, unless he wants to disown his parents.

Angrybird, you should indicate his name on the title of this forum, so that it's easy to search for his name on the search engine, and other homeowner will be durected to this forum. I do web check on most of the contractors i enquire, but unfortunately i didn't come across any bad comment on him. Thus foolishly trusted him with so much money.

He thinks he still deserves salary after causing us so much trouble and distress. This black sheep must be ousted from the renovation industry to prevent more victim. MAY ALL VICTIM STAND OUT TO BRING JUSTICE TO ALL HOMEOWNERS HERE IN SINGAPORE. Pls PM (send message) / add me or Angrybird as friend.

  7. I have this really irritating problem.

White spots/marks keep re-appearing on my black slate kitchen flooring. It usually looks ok after mopping/when wet, but when it dries up, the white spots keep re-appearing.

Any advise on how to solve this problem?

Hi emale, which solution did you choose? I've a similar problem, which i suspect my contractor didn't do a good clean up job. If the methods work for you, i would like to try too. Pls share. Tks.

  8. Always check the background of company. If the quotation comes out ridiculously cheap; other then providing cheap materials/labours, it is usually contractors wanting to use lumpsum money for other purposes. Always check the company background or the person him/herself before committing.

I check for feedback/comment on all my proposed contractor, but could not find anything on him. Hence unfortunately when i got him, nightmare starts. Eventually we did settle things out, and my house was done up but not exactly what i had in mind. but like most of you people, he still outstand me $$$. I'm just wondering if i could get it back. How are you people going to go about this?

  9. AGREE!!! which is what we're doing now.. u have a lot of headache as we are not professionals. better get a main con to do the co-ordination. Otherwise, every tiny little thing u need to be there. for e.g. false ceiling (x 2 quotes), plumbing (x2 quotes), electrical, carpentry, wet works. And on top of that design. So you end up wasting a lot of precious wkends that u could have been doing something else... Just get a trustworthy guy that u can go to for anything! much easier. my 2 cents worth.. :)

  10. I was recommended by my ID to take on Bestlink Electrical. This is what he quoted me:-

    Lighting point @ S$30

    2 way 20A Heater point @ S$250

    13A x 2SSO @ S$55

    13A x 1SSO @ S$50

    SCV point @ S$75

    20A Heater point for Hood & Hob @ S$90

    15A for aircon @ S$90

    Install lights @ S$8

    Install ceiling fan @ S$40

    Distribution board c/w ELCB & MCBs @ S$300

Total i spent $3k+. Now looking at other forum, i think he's not the cheapest, but he's pretty efficient and friendly. But too late since i already engage his service. Should have done my homework before engaging his service. Thus would recommend all who are looking into renovation, do homework to check if the electrician is registered, and reliable. I wanted to save few hundred dollars for PUB testing, now i worried if the wiring is properly done. But on benefit of doubt, initially i told him that i'll do the testing. after he did the wiring, i told him that i'll not do the testing. Fyi why i've to inform him, cos there's position changing at the DB box which will cost me extra hundreds if testing is to be done, this is to follow the criteria set by EMA. This is my sharing, hope it will benefit all.

Btw, do we need to ask for certification of the electrician before they do the work? Any warranty required from electrician to ensure work done orderly and properly? My brother asked me these questions just then. This really made me worry when i'm not sure of the answer.
