Can ask the contractor to take installation of the window out and replace with other items instead? Because for my case, getting the window supplier directly to install is 1k cheaper than what my contractor quoted me.

Hi AderKong, contractors will not be able to install top hung for the toilet windows as HDB will not grant them the permission. But you can hire an experienced window installer instead. They will be able to get the permit from HDB without any problem. Ok, will rectify this problem with contractor over a meetup session at my place this Saturday. I have a list of unsatisfied work that i have to go through with him.

Went down late afternoon today to check on reno progress. Workers were doing the last bit of tiling for living room. Skirtings not up yet. Base for kitchen cabinet and fridge is up. However, i'm not very happy with it. The round edge of the fridge base (circled in red), it looks ugly. Is this the only way to do it, cutting small rectangular pieces? Any advice? Maybe i will get my contractor to do a square base without the rounded corners. And for the part circled in blue, i understand that its for drainage of water. But that hole is a potential nesting area for xiao qiangs. What can i do about it? Will you accept this kind of workmanship? The tiles around the pipe were not cut nicely. Its suppose to be round, but how come so jerky? I wonder if this is a common problem.

However, i wanted the grills to be flushed with the wall instead of protruding out. Windows guy mentioned that i can only have 2 tracks. Aesthetic over Functional. Common toilet window tore down. Covering the hole smaller so that the concealed pipes will not be seen from service yard. We are doing overlaying of tiles for toilets. I think the black thing that they apply on the wall is to make the surface uneven so that overlay tiles will stick better.

Cornice hacked down. There's holes above my room doors. Kitchen floor hacked. Wires dangling all over.

Finally, work commences! Tiles arrived at site. High gloss tiles, slightly cream for the living area. Matte grey tiles for the kitchen. Flooring protection chucked at one side of the room. Sand and cement all over the place.

These was the original tiles selected for my MBR toilet. White with grey featured tiles in the middle. I needed only 9 pieces of it for my feature wall, but the grey uneven brick-liked tiles was totally out of stock. I went down to my flat to select an alternative. But the samples they brought down were too small and not to my liking. Rushed down to the showroom at Eunos to reselect. I have to find something that matched the original white wall tiles and grey floor tiles i have selected. Spent around 2 hours before i finally decided to use the tiles shown below. It has a natural stone feeling with splashes of brown yellow over. Each piece of tile is different and unique. You might get a piece which is very yellowish, or a piece that is totally grey. I liked the tiles but i have no idea how it will turn out in my bathroom.

Contractor just called me up. The tiles that I have selected for master toilet feature wall is out of stock. Super sad. He has called up the tiles supplier to bring down some other alternatives for me to choose. On my way down to my new house now to look at the tiles.

Today is a tiring day. Went Everjoint to look for washer, but didnt manage to get anything. Went Mega, bought Hob & Hood and Oven. Went Ikea Tampines, bought hanging rods for kitchen and fixtures for wardrobe. Came home past midnight, didn't have a chance to check out the 1st day hacking. I'm trying to look for a 6.5kg-7kg top load washer in white. So difficult to get one! Most of the top load washers are in grey color while front load in white. Why?

Thanks, i like my layout too. Quite easy to plan. During quotation, i was thinking why my floor area so big, have to spend so much $$$ on hacking and tiling. But when buying furniture, i wished that i have a bigger floor area. Coz i realized that i can't buy the ones i fancy as it will cramped up the place. E.g. the sofa i liked is 3.2m wide, not able to fit into my narrow living room. the bed frame i liked has a depth of 2.33m, not enough walking space if i try to squeeze into my bedroom. I have a fetish for big furniture.

i also feel that the contractor who only sent me quotation 3 weeks later because he is not interested to take up my project. in a way good for me also, makes the elimination process faster. no need to do a re-quote with him.
