  1. WARDROBE UPDATE

Day 2 of fixing up our wardrobes yielded the most progress.

    IMG_0112.jpg

My brother's wardrobe. Looks very tall cos there isn't any beam here. :D

    IMG_0115.jpg

Unlike mine. With that hideous beam there that I can do nothing about. My wardrobe is fortunately deeper so I can still put things on the highest shelf without knocking the beam. :P

    IMG_0121.jpg

My other brother's puny wardrobe. His looks bare without inserts, should look better tomorrow when everything is fixed up nicely! :good:

Didn't take pictures of my parents' wardrobe cos it was very dark by the time they were done. Will take more pics tomoro! :D The basic structures are all up, now waiting for the drawers, mirror and hanging rods tomoro! :yeah:

  2. PLASTERBOARDS UPDATE

    BR4-1.png

Plasterboards used to seal up those HDB 'holes' in my brother's room. One coat of sealer also went on today.

    BR3.png

Hideous huge 'hole' in my room also covered up. Sealer also went on (though pic was taken before that :P )

    BR2.png

My other brother's wall also sealed up for that clean look. His wardrobe 'shell' also seen here. Yup, puny  He insisted on putting his wardrobe here instead of the facing wall so that he has space for his keyboard at the facing wall where his table is going to be

    WARDROBE UPDATE

    Wardrobe.png

Wardrobe guys came today to fix up all the frames for the 4 wardrobes. [My wardrobe doors will be shorter cos of the beam - see the door frame for gauge] We chose to go with Closet Design since we had a good experience with them previously. They will be plastering the frames and starting to assemble the inserts tomorrow. All will be completed on Friday. Can't wait! ;)

Painting has also started today. ID promised to have ceiling, painting all done by this weekend. Shall wait and see..... Exactly one week to handover! :sport-smiley-004:

  3. but if u see u from another angle. Your unit will not have people loitering or someone pee at the stairs as there are neighbours who are hawk eye surveillance for the entire block.

That's a nice way of seeing him. I wish he'd leave his hawking reserved for outsiders... :P

The lift is dirty again today. But none of my contractors are working today. I'd love to see who he's going to point fingers at.

  4. ELECTRICAL & PLUMBING

    CIMG0599.jpg

Lighting points are up in all the different areas. Very happy to see these wires dropping from the 'sky'. :)

    CIMG0598.jpg

New DB box will be here in the storeroom. Look at the number of wires snaking around! :jawdrop: Water pipes have also been changed. Waiting for Citygas to come by this coming week to change those copper pipes too.

    CIMG0596.jpg

My brother's toilet, with plumbing and electrical done! Gotta get used to all those exposed piping.

Electrician and plumber both managed to finish their works. The coming week should see the ceilings completed, together with the wardrobes that are coming in end of the week. :good:

Last 10 days. Praying hard nothing gets impeded.

  5. Probably met some anal neighbors, hopefully everything will work out well.

Maybe can take pic (with time stamp and date) to prove that everything was cleared up after reno works of the day.

    Oh good idea, Super555! :good:

I will most definitely do that since i'm there everyday in the evening! Thanks! ;)

  6. Same here interested to know if the group buy applies to the F100 at all? Interested in joining the 26th one if possible.

Me too! Looking to get the Gateman F100 for the 26 Nov installation if possible.

Anyone knows what's the group buy price? Thanks a million!

  7. well.. maybe the neighbours are taking the opportunity to complain to MP due to they may not be happy with the lift upgrading, very dirty, as my place is also under LUP, noisy dirty noisy dusty

I also understand, coz now i am also doing my reno, no hacking on my master bedroom wall & floor nor plastering coz overlay, only the master toilet hacked.

However, my neighbour, next to my master bedroom wall, complained to HDB TO that her house wall cracked, my id told the TO we did not do any hacking in the master bedroom area what can her house wall (bdroom and storeroom) cracked. The TO say just do her a favour, what can we do? We went over to her house, true enough the master bedroom wall cracked, peel off, same as her storeroom.

MY ID. out of goodwill, will be plastering for her FOC, actually the wall last painted was 8 - 10 years. anyway, sometimes it just happened. therefore, renovation not easy ah! :bleah:

    Thanks for sharing, Nellynutt.

Sigh... Indeed, it's really not easy. Renovations is like really a serious migraine that won't go away.

I also don't know what to say. I can only say I'm blessed with good next-door neighbours and nice neighbours upstairs and downstairs. The dude who complained is living many floors above me.

I'm just hoping and praying I can continue reno works the next 2 weeks. That's all. :)

  8. I understand your concerns..

It is the best that your id and the workers should do the cleaning now.. making sure nothing rubbish left in the public areas and clean up the area outside your house.

    This is to Be Prepared.

Honestly, there is no rubbish left around at all in the public areas and even outside my corridor. Ever since we started renovations, none of the subcon has left rubbish outside the house.

The complaint was that the lift was dirty cos of the plaster powder that comes off our shoes? And it's not a lot at that...

I'm quite upset that we are being pinpointed when there are other renovation works going on too. And to top it off, we are also having lift upgrading. There's bound to be dust and wateva around.

    My question is.. Why us?

Just upset about the whole thing. Thanks for letting me vent here. Argh!

  9. Electrician and plumbing both couldn't finish the house in 2 days so they're taking another day on Monday to complete the whole house. Ceilings are going up whole of next week too. After that it'll just be installation of stuff and we are done. ;)

Also found out yesterday that there are very nasty people living in my block. Shall divulge more when renovation works are all done. Now just keeping fingers crossed that our renovations can continue for the next 2 weeks.

But I'm very thankful for nice neighbours all around me. That's most important. :)

    Happy weekend, all! :sport-smiley-018:

  10. happened to you?

    Not yet.

HDB TO came to my place and told me that someone complained that my contractor dirtied the lift. But I told the TO that there are so many houses doing renovations using that lift (4 to be exact), how he knows it's mine.

Apparently, that dude wanna complain to MP. And when that happens, they will investigate and if really they think it's my house, HDB will issue summons.

So just trying to find out what happens when the summons is issued.

Get back to the ID/ contractor you've engaged with. My pov is that is their negligence for not able to keep the place clean.

Yup, already informed ID. I already told him i'm not going to pay any fine. That's not my problem.

What i'm most worried about is whether there's a suspension period where no renovation works can be done. I'm 2 weeks away from moving in and lots more to be done. I can't afford any suspension of time.... Sigh........

  11. The agreement with my ID is 15, 40, 40, 5.

But somehow I think he calc wrongly and we have so far paid 15, 25, 40.. :D

If you're worried about the puny amount at the end for defects, I'm sure you can negotiate the terms such that you withhold 10%. ;)

  12. hi buddy,

sanitary is completed easily if there are no hiccups.

Yeah.. I'm trying to minimize hiccups.. Attending all the meetings my ID has with the different trades. Two heads/eyes/ears are better than one! :good:

Two days in a row been having lunch at 3. Who knew meeting with carpenter, electrician and plasterboard people will take so long? Each of them took at least 2 hours!

These two weeks are really no joke. Zoom zoom to get things changed and delivery arranged! :sport-smiley-004:

  13. With exactly two weeks to go, we are still left with -

    • Electrical
    • Plumbing
    • Carpentry
    • Painting

If I trust what the ID says, electrical and plumbing should finish by this weekend. Fixing of lights and sanitary ware will happen next week.

    :sport-smiley-004::sport-smiley-004::sport-smiley-004:

    Zoom zoom! ;)

Can't believe I'm moving in 2 weeks.. And I'm not packed! At all! :P
