    Nope, my ID is not Darren. But you should just call him. I called him on several occasions and got to meet him once. Things got rectified more quickly after that. And to the rest of the new home owners who are eager to know who the ID is, I can understand that you don't want to be the next victim. But I can also understand eeneyminey's situation. We don't want anything to go wrong with our house as disclosing the details of the ID would be too obvious. I am certain that they check this thread. Why? Because I named a problem here once, and my ID seem to know it when I have not talked to him about it. Im still waiting to share my experiences and photos with all of you. But there are things yet to be done. Sighs.

    Yes precisely!! Thanks for understanding my situation, hope everybody here can understand too.

    I have yet talked with my ID since CNY, for some reasons he told me that the next discussion can only be done next week. I really do not want to fight or argue with him, neither does my hubby. I just want to get my house done as what he promised us before feb ends.

    I feel you. I had a hard time too. Honestly, I dont understand where the good reviews came from. Maybe we should openly share our experiences for the benefit of everyone. I'm still waiting for this one thing to be done in my house. And they are so irresponsible that I have to keep checking with them when they are actually going to come to rectify the problem. And up till now, No responses from Darren & my ID.

    Are u engaging darren as ur ID or other designer? I wanna call darren n complain my ID to him actually.

    I'm not sure about Darren because so many good reviews here. But i really cannot stand my ID. He bluffed me and my husband so many times for so many things!! As if we dunno **** about how false ceiling should be placed, or how lamination should be done. WTH!!

    Care to share who is that ID? Cos i am considering this firm for reno.

    I wanted to share the person's name here real bad, believe me. But i'm still caught up in a contract with him. N call me coward or anything, but i seriously scared he will ruin my house even more.

    Some problems that i have is the tv feature wall and tv console that he did was totally wrong from what he promised us and what we agreed in the first place. his laminating job sucks like crazy. Tiling n flooring work also haywired!!

    He promised many things can do for us but in the end ALL GOT PROBLEMS!!

    Anyway, dunno if it will help, but as you might guess alrd, he is a male designer, tall, dark hair, young too.

    If i knew that i will have so many headache with him, i should have just gone straight to engaging contactors. I'm paying this much for an ID so that i can have a relax n enjoyable time renovating my house. Who knows this person can caused me and my husband so much trouble.

    Because of all these issues, my renovation will be delayed for a month (i think). I'm on a tip of an iceberg of calling his boss and complaint him straight away.

    i learnt my lesson hard way, pay deposit due to kan cheong, believe this fellow coz well dressed good mannered, he requested 300 deposit but i only paid him 150 on spot to secure due to good price.

    But at night, i feel uncomfortable when i re-cap my meeting with him, he did not draw layout on the wall for reference, do not know where the layout for circuit, not even bothered to take my floor plan away with him , lastly face changed when i told him no 300,face quickly become ok and he accepted the deposit. When i ask him thursday rewiring , he did not reply as though he is thinking of something. i asked again then he nodded.

    i checked the ACRA at night and realised he did not filed tax return for his company for 2009 and 2010, between Feb, April, Aug 2011 changed company address, worst not compliances his company got red cross, definitely he got summon one , all this indiciated mean his finance is not stable , and neither his work will be good.

    As i got contact from wojia, i checked Zenterra online, green tick, which mean stable company. i dropped by today, met Mr Lye, price is better than my previous contractor, scheduled this thur for rewiring.

    As for my 150, he had the cheek to say i need to pay him 100 for transport and quotation, pls he did not draw anything, i do not know if he will bank transfer the balance to me, BUT i know i lost 150 for my laziness to look for another option.

    Lesson learnt:-

    i) well dressed good manner does not mean anything

    ii) Get a quotation from him, black and white, breakdown; signed then pay deposit;

    iii)be alert and observe the contractor, action and knowledge can tell alot of stories.

    iv) Check company name online with ACRA, if green tick, no problem, red cross big problem, dash - mean neutral

    v) go to his company to check and observe

    So sad to hear this.. But this is exactly what i worry about. I was thinking, even those people who give proper quotation can scam people off, wad about people who doesnt even give any quotation at all?!

    Unfortunately, my hubby seems to have the opp thoughts, he was thinking to have quotation or not is not the main thing, as long as they look experienced and honest.

    in some way it's true, but all these can be just mere act. The electrician quoted us 1.5k for the whole 5rms rewiring. It's cheap if compared to another electrician recommended by my ID, but if it's a scam, then we lost 1.5k which is alot to us alrd.

    Hi friend,

    there is quite alot of option in hdb website...spend a little time going through n I think it may save u quite a few hundred bucks..

    Yeah i've tried to look around in HDB website, but i was thinking rather than randomly picking few of those, it will be better to go with a recommended electrician here.

    Do you have anybody to recommend?

    Sighz.. i've tried to call zenterra few days ago and it seems like all the electrician are fully booked and they said they can only attend to me in mid dec while i need to do my electricity my this week or early next week at most.

    Contacted Mr Ong and because he gave us a very gud price, so we might be engaging him instead.

    But i need some enlightment here, Mr Ong never give us any proper/official quotation. He just quote us a price for re-wiring the whole house.

    I feel a bit insecure without a formal quotation given. But from this forum seems like Mr Ong quite trustworthy. I was wondering if we can just accept this or go with the electrician recommended by my ID which cost us like 1k more?

    Pls pls advice..

    Our place is being done up by him right now.

    I can say so far so good.. He is pretty responsible and takes the initiative to call us if anything happened that is not going as planned. Readily contactable too.

    Best of all, easy to talk for discounts...

    His quotes are pretty reasonable too so dun worry about that.

    I've met Johnny too.. any more review on him? So many good review on darren, i'm having some thoughts if i can shift to darren or not.. dunno can or not too.. sighz

    Hi

    I'm sorry to be saying this but I don't mean to contradict u.

    We prefer Nippon becox it lasted us longer when we used their 3-in-1 medifresh paint. Ours lasted about 8 years before the paint started turning patchy. However, what fascinated us is that there is no peeling or flaking.

    Our neighbours who used ICI had to get his walls repainted every 2 to 3 years even though they are using the expensive range.

    So basically, Nippon is better quality and long lasting and still cheaper as compared to ICI? as for Nippon itself, do they have certain range with different prices? Which one that you guys normally used?

    Please advice.. This is my first time renovating a house and for some money-saving, i intend to design it without using ID..
