  1. No matter how many variety, what you make is definitely different from what you can buy. My durian ice cream taste much better than those outside. And cheaper too.

Hmmmm.... I know which one you mean. Not sure whether such thing available or not. Can search online.

I can't do durian ice cream, none in the house like it :(

  2. Nice cake!! Think of making own ice cream?? Hehe....

Never thought of making own ice cream since there's so much variety out there. But if there's ice cream "hot" plate maker, I might consider getting one in the future.

I remember last time at Cineleisure, there's a hotplate restaurant where after your meal, you can change the hotplate to coldplate to make your own icecream. Not sure if such thing is available in the market.

  3. Cleaning Up

It took us ages to clean up and pack our house. Trying to re-organise so that all our rubbish can fit into the house. Our storeroom is half the size of the previous one and alot of things cannot fit in. Our Christmas tree got to go and baby high chair and baby mattress got to go too. Since Philips gave us a new home theatre system that comes with the TV, our old Sony one got to go too.

Our WIW shrink by half, we used to have half a room WIW but now only 1/4 room. We have huge ikea storage box to keep our clothes but now we have to source for smaller one. Our clothes steamer used to stand at a corner in our WIW but now he got to move to the store.

We used to keep our old clothes, it's still quite new, just a little small, but now we got to throw all away.

We have yet to build our study room except we got a billy bookshelf from ikea. My documents are still sitting at a corner

 How long more are we going to take, I wonder? :(

  4. hi- is the layer of magnetic paint strong enough? is it from rusto-o-leum?

It's not strong enough, I think should spray at least 3-4 layers. Maybe it's not rusto-o-leum brand. I should have tested it first before painting over it, so now too late!

  5. Many thanks jshome ;)

The final lot of "contractor" came yesterday which signified that my reno is finally, totally completed. It is the 1st time that I am aware their speciality existed :thumbs up: Worker was wondering how long his trade will last since he does not do much carpentry work. I was concerned that his sense of smell is affected as he could no longer smell the thinner.

They are the carpentry makeup artiste. This small group of experts deal with touching up imperfection, roughness of lamination, smoothening laminate edges and cutting joints. They mixed different colors to create the closest match for each piece of furniture. It is a pleasure to see them at work as their artistic sense of color is superb. I've got a terrible headache the whole day from the fume of the thinner they used though.

By the time they are finished, we are unable to see the dark edges where 2 laminates meet. It looks like a wrap round. The edges are smooth to the touch too. Hubby likes it very much. :sport-smiley-004:

Is there such thing! I should get mine to do it as well right? Got any picture to show??

  6. Nice lamp! :good:

Mind sharing how did you do it and what are the materials needed?

    Material used

strip of wood pieces from Daiso

    Wood glue

    Sand paper

    Spray paint

Light bulb and fitting from BoConcept

Simple materials and a little patient.

  7. Haha.... U should take ur time to sort out ur things..... Provided the movers don't chase u to return fhose boxes.....

U build many storage space? For me, I didn't n had to get IKEA to install many storage cabinets.

Yes, every single piece of carpentry in lower level have storage, needed that to store all the big items like juicer, steamboat, hotplate and baking stuff.

  8. Wow Jshome, your kitchen looks really good with the centre island and lots of storage!

Too much storage and still not used to it. Keep opening the wrong drawer.

just realized your island is very unique! its not straight. looks really good.

I think alot of things in my house are not straight, in fact the kitchen cabinet is slated as well.

Wonderful kitchen.... Like in magazine! Very beautiful...

SLR + tripod + lightroom = magazine photo... Hee hee

  9. Looks good! Do share the other room pics.

The stools look rather short for the counter. Are those temp (for picture taking) or permanent stools?

Hahahaha.... That's right! Its just a stool and for photo taking only.

At the moment not possible to take the rest of the room, everywhere are boxes. I hope we can clear by next week.

  10. Window film

Got this contact, Kool Connected in ubi, from someone's blog and we happen to be there, so we went in to take a look. They supplies different types of film and if you like to diy, they have all the supplies too. We chosen this and for our 4pieces windows at our kitchen, it costs only $20+. However, if you want them to do it for you, the labour charge is $100+.

  11. Congrats on ur reno completion. I like ur white and sleek kitchen. Your island with the 3 hanging lamps is nice too!

Do post more pics of ur completed reno :)

Actually it is a little greyish. We choose a white wood grain laminate but it turns out abit off white with a faint greyish grain.

  12. Hi, may i ask hw much this filter set up cost? Where u bought it? Thanks in advance!

I'm not sure how much it costs, it was from a very good friend and they have yet to bill us the invoice. But if you like, I can PM you the contact.

  13. Water filter

We got this installed under our kithen sink. We drink from the tap quite often and somehow, we don't really trust our new water. We got this basic system which is a 2in1 sediment and carbon filter and we only need to change it every 6mths.
