Curious to know have you found your solution to planters at balcony? LAst Saturday newspaper had a feature article on landscaped balconies. I called the designer named in the article and guess what: a similar landscaping for my little balcony will set me back $5k! Using Merbau instead of Chengal wood some more! Am still thinking about it...
Balcony landscaping usually starts from $1000 onwards, depending on the plants you want. Does $5k include vertical greenery?

Any of these strike your interest?

Some carpenters charge double, some don't. For a big job like yours, you should get the ones that don't charge double. Should be easy.

Blum is Austrian, Hafele is German. Both are good quality products, won't leave gaps after many use. Blum is also used in Ikea, where they conduct stress test on them. 20,000 times of use with no problems.

The key point to consider (if you are only replacing the doors) is that the points of attachment to the carcass will have to be slightly different from the existing ones.
Do bear in mind that the main cost of carpentry is in the finishing, the savings from keeping the carcass is minimal, maybe 20% at best.
Also, check on the interior for any hints of waterlogging, mould, or insects (especially termites).
And if you are replacing the hinges, use the ones with integrated dampeners.

Can consider getting a bridging loan, ask your banker about it.
