    hi Sherting, the overlay will be much more cheaper than getting a new console, but it very much depends on the worksmanship, as it was done my my FIL, so its FOC

    Anyone can advise on how to maintain the shine on my tiles?

    As ID claimed that the cleaning process is only sweep n mop my living room tiles(old tiles), is it really like that???

    Cleanup are supposed to be done upon my bedframe n mattress arrival on wed

    BUT... Guess what, they only cleared up all the stuff yesterday (sun)

    and ID promised to do whole house cleaning early this morning so i can do my altar table tomorrow and my customary bed setting on Wed

    BUT again, it was delayed till this evening.... the reason is they missed out my slot

    It was almost 2 weeks since my last update,

    the whole of last week was so unproductive.....

    Monday - no workers

    Tuesday - Plumbing (installing of bathroom accessories)

    Wednesday - no workers

    Thursday - Electrician came & left in the morning (only wiring was done upon evening)

    Friday - Electrical work (only wiring, 17 LED bulbs were installed without covers and also in wrong orders..... (PS. LED lightings were SPONSORED by my ID)

    And when the carpenter came up for 2nd measurement on last Tuesday and we only finalized on Friday.....

    And my ID told me that they wont be able to complete my kitchen on the completion date promised.....

    I understand that there were many renovation going on everywhere..... I also understand my ID have give in alot to our nonsense....

    When we asked the electrician about the missing circuit board cover, we were told to approach HDB instead....unsure.gif

    I thought I'm the only thinking so - "we update more than the ID updates us".... Maybe house owner always more "gan chiong" than the ID, coz eventually we are the one going to live in it anyway. Hmm, certainly hope for a pro-active ID, but I bet most are like that? Going to give up complaining and just try to manage him if don't manage properly :-P

    all new owners will share the same thoughts,

    "we update more than the ID updates us" - bcos my ID stays in Jurong and we stay near to the new house (5mins drive away)

    and I open the Whatsapp chat group, easier for him too....

    Nice washroom accessories you've picked. This is from Hoe Kee is not mistaken??

    I like those towel bar which looks a bit squarish also, so modern looking. Actually it's not boring at all, sometimes choosing washroom accessories can be fun looking at the nice nice design...

    Is there any difference for choosing washroom in chrome plated vs stainless steel? Any benefits over each others e.g. not so easily rust??

    to correct, thats actually glass shelve.... not towel bar, but I think I saw towel bar of the series... It really beautiful....

    I choose the accessories bcos I like the chrome feel on my white tiles, I didnt really think of whether it last anot.... biggrin.gif

    Initially chosen this wood look-alike tiles for the kitchen, to make it more Scandi feel. Once I told this to the ID, he said need to top-up ~300 for laying this type of tiles coz it's harder to lay (lay Zig Zag like real woods) and workmanship more expensive. I'm quite shock, didn't know this will incur additional costs. Cheapo me, haha, to save cost I had revert back to the tiles second shown below. My thinking is the kitchen area quite small and might not worth it to top up this amount just for the small area. Finally goes with my 2nd choice, greyish tiles with very slight variation in color which I also like. Hope didn't regret with the decision... Sigh... Always battle between $$ and design i like.

    Didnt took much photos, but was glad to see all debris was cleared out of the house..... So assuming they should be starting the tiles work soon.....

    As we have not done the measurement of the kitchen cabinet, because my ID told me that it can only be done without the existing cabinet.....

    Actually I think we update my ID with the progress of the renovation via Whatsapp more than he update us.... biggrin.gif

    I am vexed by having to decide which is design is the best for my odd-shaped kitchen

    My ID mentioned that having chimney hob without cabinet but with the glass backing wont look

    so he suggested to have cabinet by the side ( I want my chimney to be shown)

    Hi... I'm not taking keys today(although today is 2nd appt), as I'm giving them(also muslim) 30 days extension stay starting from tomorrow

    So u going to collect your key today ~ congratulation first ! :yamseng:

    Today we supposed to collect our key too, but our owner is Muslim .. so we will collect after Hari Haji.

    Yeah... Agreed, do not go for undermount, to prevent water leakage to the cabinet underneath

    Go for top mount you'll save yourself lots of trouble if you don't want water leakage due to poor workmanship
