    my friend recently bought this fan along upper serangoon for our living room and so far its quite okay compare to our last fan, just want to share :))

    heard that Acorn is quite new and not proven in the market yet. Heard from one shop that it is the lower end brand of Crestar. But I have to say their design is quite interesting.

    How long have you been using the fan?

    if u take $68 for normal LED which china or taiwan, why dont consider philips green LED downlight only $85?

    i did consider philips LED. It is only 4" and doesn't come with on-site warranty. i prefer those with the glass surrounding with philips does not have

    Why am I so pissed and hyper demanding for a near instand response ?

    1. This is a high tech fridge which was just installed. GC guys did not bother to even check it before leaving.

    2. Next morning the fridge not cold and I called Samsung. There was a "21 E" error code flashing and I mentioned it.

    3. 3 days later, Samsung relented and send a tech over, the next day.

    4. the repair man says the PCA (circurt) board is gone ! This is the brain of the system ! If it is screw your fridge is done.

    5. Calls to Samsung resulted in "Please contact your dealer". Calls to GC resulted in "Please call Agent" or "We are waiting for agent feedback"

    6. In the past 28 hours, I had made over 4 hours of phone calls between the 2 parties. Each time telling them my details and sob story over and over again.

    7. Finally, their manager Mr Tan, still have to ask me for my mobile phone and name after the 15 mins converstation. I'd gladly give but shouldn't this be in their CRM system ?

    ....the saga continues

    any further updates?? I almost wanted to buy the same model. Looking at your experience, i am really concern.

    and lastly does management of condo approves?

    looking for similar thing as well but the investment is large (>10k). Some of residents in my condo have tried applying but got rejected. Some proceed to installed without approval.

    after looking for 2wks at balestier, geylang, Jln Besar, i have decided to take the plunge for the LED downlights. to balance the cost, i decided to go for LED downlights for the living room area and kitchen (used most often) and the rest normal PLC (cheaper and can replace bulb myself). For the LED downlights, i managed to get 2 yrs on-site warranty as which is not common.

    Price for 6" is $68 while the PLC are $28 for 6". Will be installing next week, cant tell the performance yet.

    I went to Sembawang Lighting at Sembawang Road yesterday 5 may 2013. The prices of their lights & other products are not competitive. Infact their LED down light and ceiling fans are very expensive . I was served by a non chinese-speaking Asian lady. Some of the products which i thought was reasonable pricing ended up more expensive, when they added the gst at point of payment. I thought they were unethical in quoting me a price, but tagged on gst when i was about to pay. I ended up buying nothing from them & will never shop there anymore.

    mmm....just went there today...similar experience as well.

    I just bought some 4 inch LED at $25. they work quite well. and the shop give me 2 years warranty to the driver.

    it quite good to use LED now.

    I also bought some spotlight at $10, it's quite cheap and a beautiful crystal dinning light. it cost me less than $700.
