  1. tough to find one that is wide and shallow... so far i only found one Samsung model in Best Denki/Harvey Norman that quite fit the measurement i want.

anywhere else recommended to get fridges, preferably the west/central side.

If you cannot find the one you want at those big outlets, then you may have to try parallel import from overseas.

  2. Hi, someone pls help me out. i have recently constructed a toilet on the roof of my building, but this one is higher than the water tank level, many people suggested to use a booster pump or a water pump witha pressure tank. i am not sure how this will work. how when i open the tap in the toilet the pump will start automatically. can some one pls suggest to me any web page where i can find an isometric view of this arrangement or atleast a line diagram? thanks

A simple soln is to add a small water tank at your toilet ceiling. The water flow down naturally when you open taps. The water tank need an auto pump to pump water when water tank level is low.

  3. I just collected my keys to my 3 storey house and it has a 100 litre water tank and two pumps at the roof top to privide water for level two and three toilets.

Need to do a check and service it. Does anyone knows a professional and reliable company that can service this product? Not regular plummber pls. Many thanks

Call a few town concil ask them who maint those hdb water tanks.

  4. Recently one of my home aircon faulty. I called a company with a relative big name. The technicians changed 3 components but the aircon still cannot work. The 3 components cost about $300. Lucky it did not work so I just need to pay some checking fee. The technicians then installed back all my 3 "faulty" components and then proposed changing a new aircon. I then spent quite some times to google around and decided to try this totally unfamiliar company: http://www.highcool.com.sg/

This High Cool boss Mr Wong came down and changed one component and topup a bit of gas, the aircon work! It cost $100.

  6. Everybody will be happy??? How about those below 35+ (above 21+)?

If you are 21+ and lucky enough to find someone you love as early as possible, then both of you should quickly go to HDB to apply for new flat under "Fiance/Fiancee Scheme". You can almost get it in 3 years time. Then both of you have to go to ROM before HDB can give you key to enter “洞房” when the flat completed. If you do not have ROM cert then, your application will be void(cancelled) and you will loose 5% deposit. Both of you have to stay in the flat for minimum 5 years.

Important/Critical Note: In my opinion, it is better to register one party as owner and your spouse as "essential occupier". I will tell you the reason in the second part below.

  7. Singapore property law only allow maximum 7 year rental period. Any tenancy agreement more than 7 years (in one go) is illegal. More than 7 years have to into the common term called "leasehold" property buy/sell, the law/rule/regulation/taxes/eligibility etc. for property buy/sell shall be applied the same way as those common 99 leasehold property.

When we say "buy" HDB flat, actually we are renting HDB flat for 99 years(or remaining period), "buyer" is just tenant, HDB still the owner/landlord.

HDB is very straight forward: subletting max period is 3 years!

(not so straight forward: subject to change any time, and HDB can take back any time by giving you 2 weeks notice, this is clearly stated in the terms and conditions).

If you are singapore citizen of 35+, single, you alone can buy any type HDB flat in resale open market.

You rent HDB 10 years your money gone forever. You buy HDB and hold for 10 years your money appreciate! Based on current rental market, if you can afford to pay the rent you should be able to pay for your housing loan monthly installment. and if you just alone using one room, the other rooms can rent out, and maybe you don't need to come out cash to pay installment. Your tenants pay for you and you have free housing. Better still, 10 years later your earn big money when you sell your flat!

If you are lucky to meet someone you love and also 35+, and also already bought a HDB, both of you can do anything you like except going to ROM! Then your "family" can have two HDB flats and retired at 35+, and wellcome more foreign ”talents“ to come and work, everybody will be happy!

  8. I'm aware Luopan not accurate cos of shifting of magnetic north + factors in measuring environments, steel, iron, mineral, stray magnetic field etc. Gyrometer very expensive leh. How do you measure house's direction vs true north? Based on map?

There are 4 directions as u mentioned, so door facing within the 15 deg of the 4 mentioned directions is considered best? Any "logic" to explain?

if there is map I use map, like http://www.onemap.sg or http://map.google.com

if there is no map then have to use sun angle like this one: http://www.fengshui123.org/bbs/viewthread.php?tid=43929

but so far I seldom use sun angle because most of the buildings are in the maps.

for the 4 best directions, whether within 15 degree or 30 degree I still don't know, whether door or windows or what, the common things are the 4 walls(most buildings are rectangle), currently I don't know what combinations of door/windows should be in what directions. I just happen to find out that these 4 directions are quite special, no "logic" except some gussing. but you can see the tons of evidence yourself without any explaination.

all fengshui masters based on old "theory" and experiences, I don't care old theory, I want to see evidence, tons of evidence.

  9. I am "renotalk", not cow or cat lah!

almost all masters used magnetic north which is the most unstable measurement, sometimes you get this direction sometimes you get another direction, somebody measure and get even different direction, eventually there are many directions. I just don't believe in magnetic direction and all those masters, but then sometimes they may get the right direction for your house, it is really depend on your luck, actually whether you get the right fengshui master is also depend on your luck. so there is no difference in your luck before and after you exercise those fengshui changes according to fengshui masters advice, all depend on your luck lah!

so how to improve your luck? some may say hard working can improve luck, some may say to have kind heart...and many many more, eventually it may still be unknown or no easy answer.

  12. I learned that Chong Swan Lek passed away in 2008. Any one know where did Chong Swan Lek stay(house address)?

After searching the website, I also found out he had one lady student Ong-Lee. Did he had others students doing fengshui, for example his children?
