  1. THE SOPHISTICATED HIGH QUALITY PHILIPS DVD MICRO THEATER RTH718

    1) Philips has very poor and slow customer service.

    2) Unreliable product with no stock of part for repair.

    PHILIPS - SENSE and SIMPLICITY

SENSE…It makes no SENSE to me that a one-year-old product broke down just at the nick after the warranty period and to make thing worst, it cannot be repaired as PHILIPS do not stock the parts for repair.

SIMPLICITY…Yes, it is really simple for them to say “NO” to a customer. This is one of the worst customer services I have received in Singapore.

On 10th Dec 2008, I have sent my DVD Micro Theater RTH718 for repair (Job Number: 841880). It was just after warranty period as I bought it 1 year ago at Philips Annual Sale (9th Sep 2007). Such a sophisticated high quality product broke down just after 1 year, unbelievable. Since it was not under warranty, I have to pay a sum of SG$30 service fee for checking and quotation.

One week has passed and I received a shocking phone call from Philips telling me that my expensive product cannot be repaired as Philips does not have the part/component anymore for the repair for this model.

First, getting back to customer took 1 whole week is really unacceptable. Most IT or Electronics Company will only take 3 days to get back to customer. Secondly, Philips does not stock part/component for model that was bought just one year ago, this is really ridiculous.

I have requested a solution from Philips and was told that they will get back to me. Another week passed but no reply from Philips. I have to called up Philips CUSTOMER CARE hotline on 23rd Dec 2008 which again telling me that they will reply to me. Not a single telephone ring from Philips till 26th Dec 2008 which I have to make a personal trip to the service center. Wondering what type of “CARE” Philips is claiming.

The only way of compensation that Philips can offer is asking me to buy another set of sound system at staff price. Would I dare to buy another Philips product again when Philips do not even stock up their parts? This product that I bought is not a cheap set like those “Made in China” which I only get to enjoy it for only 1 short year.

I was so disappointed with Philips dealing that I took my unrepairable Philips product without considering buying another unreliable Philips product.

Thank you for your time in reading my mail and you can be sure that I will do my utmost best to tell my friends, public and even media about the wonderful features of my Philips product.

My dealing with Philips has been one of nothing but pure frustration. I will no longer look at Philips for any future purchase and I will not recommend my friends or any of my relative to buy this brand.

In conclusion, Poor Customer Service and Unreliable Product

    Yours sincerely

    Lim

  2. It is not totally the town council fault, it is partly the resident fault and responsibility.

Rubbish everywhere on the floor and thrown down the airwell shows that it is done by the residents.

If you go round the other 10 storey blocks around Tanglin Halt, all blocks are dirty. This shows that most resident of Tanglin Halt are poorly educated and not civil minded.

Compare and take a look at estate of Tampines, Pasir Ris and East Coast in the east side.

Area are to be upkept by the cooperation of town council and residents.

I'm not speaking on behalf for the twon council, in fact I've wrote a complaint letter to them but not much action was taken. Next, I'll elevate to the non-stop to the next higher authority till satisfactory actions are taken.

  3. The price is b4 GST but includes installation and bracket. They're giving Insulation K-Flex Class O, which they claim is a free upgrade from Class 1. They are also giving a free gift : stand fan, rice cooker, insect repellent or some grill/steamboat thingy (but the brand is not smthing i've heard b4)

Company is Best Tech at IMM

    Be careful

  4. Oh no, I cannot find any printing of class 0 or 1 on the trunking....maybe I'm conned.

But anyway, their service is bad...main blower spoilt right after installation after their installer went back. Called up their office for 2 weeks and waited the arrangement of agent to come back to service....no news!

I've to blast and scream at them for ETA then things get moving *sad*

  5. Alexandra shops are not the cheapest anymore...furthermore, they are not very service oriented.

They can tell me this is the cheapest price and no discount as they have too to many order to fulfill.

Can get the same item/model at $20-30 cheaper along Upper Thomson shop even without bargaining.

  6. When we agreed on the quotation, the contractor estimate my kitchen top and bottom is appro 40ft. However the final quote I received after completion is 55ft, which is to my horror cos my kitchen cabinet is basically quite small.

This is a U shape kitchen, consist of the followings:

    1. one side 3 doors, middle 4 doors and the other side is 1 door.

    2. Some boxup to hide the pipping. - 4.5ft -$405

    3. A 10cm space to put sauces which I was told ithe space taken up 2fts. that is $180

    4. And 3ft - 10cm thickness laminate to join the cabinet with the strainless steel backing - $270

    5. Due to the U shape, I have two L shape corner and was told the corner is count as double. 5ft - $450

I was very taken aback because I didnt expect item 2, 3 and 4 to be calculate as the same rate as the cabinet with door. And also same for item 5, why do I have to pay twice while I only have one working space? All these add up to be $1305. Which is alot of $$$$ to us.

For item 2 -the carpeter advise us not to waste that little space and he can do a simple shelf for us, if we know this so simple shelf will cost so much, we would rather not to have it.

:notti: Help!:jawdrop: can someone advise me what to do? Is this the norm or regardless of how much space or material you use, will be charge at the same rate as the cabinet. ie my cabinet is $90/ft.

    Anybody has similar experience?

And also the open cabinet without door is charge as the same rate as cabinet with door - is this correct?

There is no such thing as counting cabinet+boxup -> The cabinet itself is consider the box up.

    =>> They earn extra $$$

There is no such thing as 10cm space to put sauces =>> They earn extra $$$

There is no such thing as 10cm thickness laminate to join the cabinet -> cabinet is cabinet...does that mean they admit their workmanship is lousy? =>> They earn extra $$$

Finally, no such thing as corner is count as double =>> They earn extra extra $$$$$$.

You better count peanuts will all these monkeys!
