the stage has been set and the contract inked....now give me my keys!

These are Kronoswiss, I paid $3.7k for 750sq. I was quoted $4.6k for krono-o. Difference I think it is design range.
I loveeeee first one too. Fits the scandi theme perfectly. Just hope my selected furniture will match!

Not sure why that catalogue photo disappeared but here it is again:

Love your sliding nyatoh doors, but my FC would probably shoot it down if its $900 a pop.

Laminate Flooring - Honestly, it is hard to visualise based on a 1sqf sample so I googled if there are any samples online... here they are:
Living room and Dining area (Kronoswiss D8009 - Oristano Oak)
Bedrooms (Kronoswiss D2332WG - Siberian Ash)
Study room (Kronoswiss Swiss-Noblesse Montepulciano Walnut (D2266WG)
Can't wait for these to start next week
Hi Supermama, these are from Kronotex right? Just wondering what's the difference between this and Krono-Originals, and possible to pm me the cost of installing your laminates?
Thanks much!

I'm using Amcon as I find their rates are lower.
65daigou
does not have a bulk shipping price, therefore, the price is on the high side if you are going to buy taobao to furnish your entire house, I will only use them when I'm only buying a few small items and am too lazy to purchase it myself, which is rarely next to never.
by weight - 1st 500g at $4.7, subsequent 500g at $1.7
either volumetric or actual, whichever is higher.
hoyoyo
bulk shipping price is way more expensive then Amcon, however, if I were to buy small items, I will purchase myself, send to their warehouse and they will ship for me. this is my usual go to service provider when I buy taobao.
by weight - 1st kg at $6.8, subsequent 1kg at $4
might seem more expensive than 65daigou, but hoyoyo calculates strictly by weight, not volumetric.
my reason for using hoyoyo is that many of the items I usually get are light in weight.
by bulk - $300 per cubic meter
peeka
another expensive shipper, although bulk shipping cheaper than hoyoyo.
their strength is fast, which you will see reflected in their pricing as well. I always give plenty of time so don't see why I should pay a premium for that.
by weight - 1st 500g at $17, subsequent 500g at $3.5
by bulk - $250 per cubic meter
amcon
only does bulk, but at $110 per cubic meter, it's less than 1/2 the cost of peeka.
all conversions from rmb to sgd is at 5rmb to 1sgd for my easy calculation.
Thanks Alisa for the detailed evaluation of the providers, will look to Amcon then for my purchases. Have a smooth reno!

thanks bert! How's yours coming along. I see alot more activity around those few blocks around you more recently.
Just got my HLE today!

Good to see your t-blog and layout looks pretty similar to mine.
I have plans to go full assault on TB as well, just a quick question, which forwarder did you eventually use, i have seen 65daigou, peeka, amcon being floated around in the forum and i think i have read that TB South East Asia can ship (via air freight) directly as well. So i am wondering if you have compared the shipping prices across the different providers especially for bulky items?
I think on average, system 4 starmex is about $4k? from those that i have enquired from.
Thanks

Great to see your reno is back on traction!

Good ID find, quote seems pretty reasonable for the scope of works he has included

Confirm that anochorvale isles is completed? Cos the latest photo I saw on the website still look like it isn't completed.
bert7332, yours is 5 room right. Can share with me how much you give your budget as, cos none of the ID/Contractor get back to me. Mayb I quoted too low.
Hope to see ur renovation soon
Yup, i think the rest of the blocks have already collected their keys, except ours and a couple more.
We are trying very hard to keep it below 35, and so far, we received quotes between 30-43k. Probably running into CNY period, rushing to close up projects and close for the lunar year, they will probably be more responsive when they are back to work next week.

Your layout is similar to mine..you can still do a WIW if you can hack and rebuild a partition in bedroom 2. Think after that should still be able to put in a single bedder, a small work desk and a 2dr wardrobe..
Hi Shaowei, we explored that, but need to put in queen size bed for both of the bedrooms for the parents.

Looking real good Vic!

woohoo..hello neighbours!

ID selection has been challenging maybe because of the budget that we have set. We thought that we will just to just 3 ID/contractors but ended up with 5.
1) Janet - Recommended by a friend. Both of us like her, can readily give ideas and prices on the spot. But the quote was above our budget.
2) Legendary Mr K - My wife met up with him, shortest discussion among the designers, probably bz with the volume of requests generated from this forum, so not sure if he understood what we wanted, but he did revert with quote that was slightly above our budget.
3) Alvin - Currently doing a project for our friend so we checked him out. nice guy but shot down my wife's ideas ...death knell
4) Sam - Our favourite, love his ideas and his initial quote. But recently went MIA after we refined our requirements..we were so close to confirming him
5) Pete - Really detailed person and quote was close to we had budgeted, but somehow we can't bring ourselves to commit yet unlike number (4)
So we plan to look a couple more before confirming...*fingers crossed*

you guys are relatively close to me. That's a lot of new flats there that will be coming up over the next couple of months! I expect to see alot more owners from that estate blogging in here like you guys. Btw, awesome layout you have.
bert7332, it makes sense now why you chose the "Anchoring Down" title for your t-blog. haha.
all the best in your search for your ID/contractor
My wife will flip if she sees you using "awesome" for the layout. WIW and an open-concept kitchen with an island were top in her wishlist, both can be postponed to at least 5 years down the road.
We are not going to hack any rooms as both sets of our parents might visit and stay-over plus possible new additions to the family. The wretched location of the bomb shelter means the fate of the kitchen is sealed. I have seen much better HDB layouts with the bomb shelter not been an obstacle..but alas..we didn't have much of a choice back then.
Yea. Anchoring down at Anchorvale and finally starting our new lives away from our current 120sf room.
Thanks i need all the help in the search for the ONE, its getting frustrating.

Noobs here. Decided to document our own reno journey. Still awaiting the all important letter to collect keys though we understand some blocks have already collected theirs.
So i guess it should be in a matter of months before we get called up, 3 years of waiting and many missed opportunities, its time to get excited!
As a standard SOP, i am starting off with the floor plan.

Hi cooknchill,
I am looking to collect my keys soon as well in Sengkang and would probably adopt the scandindustrial look, greatly influenced by the designs presented in this forum.
Look forward to see your reno updates.
Cheers
