would like to share my honest experience with the IDs that i have met for the last few months. I eventually took up with 9 degree. This thread, i will eventually update with their workmanship for my new house + design, hoping to help anyone who is like me, a new home owner. From zero knowledge, and eventually got a dream home which i can proudly call my own. =) The first ID that was introduced by my fren was Absolook ID - Hong Chang. Unfortunately, I think he was too busy with the amount of clients recommended to him, i was pushed to another lady. Cut the long story short, because we were ignorant, we didnt know how expensive marble flooring is, we got a shock of our life when we got quoted $35k (havent include GST+service charge) for marble flooring for a 4room BTO flat. Her first quotation, scare us away big time because all together added in was 55k quoted. *sweat* We went down to the reno+ id exhibition @ expo last month to try and find an ID for ourselves. Spoke to a total of 5 companies - *** Design, Dyel, and another 3 more(cant remember the. NON bothered to reply me except for Dyel. (apparently a budget of 25k is too low for them *sigh*) We meet Dyel Designer LC @ his office 2 weeks back. Base on our requirement, he designed our house, with a concept. Honestly, if i do not have a tight budget, i would have sign up with Dyel immediately. LC has wonderful service, and he is willing to share his knowledge about the designing market. Example: when we enquire about the invisible grill and the solar film for all windows, he told us immediately on the spot that "to be honest, its much cheaper if u get them on your own, and usually if u buy curtains from a certain supplier they have the solar film supplier numbers which they can recommend". After the first meeting, LC has continuously tries communicating with us to see if we need any amendments on the quote, and if there's anything that he can help on the total cost, if its too expensive, he can give us a discount. Since we have spoken to a few IDs we already knew what we wanted to do. Told her our idea, and we requested her to prepare the quote first before we go down. when we meet up, we were very happy with the quote. it was a few thousands cheaper than Dyel's. With the same design concept and flooring and she added a few more others like solid surface + cabinets for both toilet and shower screen for both, top and bottom kitchen cabinets for both side. Katerine also provides us with her opinion on flooring. She asked us if we would like to know about vinyl flooring because it looks good and easy to maintain. She told us homogenous tiles is quite common. Vinyl flooring is a an option we can consider because of the looks and the ease of maintenance plus since we have a budget and we wanted build in wardrobe for all rooms, she asked us to consider vinyl to lower our cost. After a few meet up and discussion, and amendments on our quote, we finally decided to sign up with her. Not only because of her quote, but because katerine is accommodating to my constant questions regarding the flooring, the changing of our arrangement. She also arrange for viewing for her existing clients to see their workmanship. With this post, i will slowly update my renovation process with 9 degree. We will be getting our keys in June.
