  1. kriegs - can ppl from the other blocks still look inside your unit?

Have not try looking from the other block. I try looking at my unit from the ground floor, cant really see a thing inside, also not very 'silvery reflective'.

Maybe nxt time i try to wave to the opp unit to see if they see me the 'look' :notti:

Oh. didn't know that it requried drilling. I thought is only use screwing the lock holder on to the gate.

Hmm.. anyone noe where can i get it from outside store?

I got my 'Duro' lock and lock holder from carrefour. It attached to the gate using screw, no drilling. So far so good.

The uncle who did the metal bolt on the gate mention it a 'police' lock, one whole piece type.

  2. Dear neighbour,

    Long time No see !

Big news! I saw 3 police cars with many police offier at Blk26C lift. They are digging sample with brushes (power form) from the level 1 lift. Lots of police officers looking for something. Anyone know what has happen.

    No idea at all. :dunno:

Saw police officers questioning the construction worker there around 7pm+. They also check on the ground floor storage rooms. Below 26D.

  3. the guy is charging $3.50 per feet (i think). Total damage for 3 bedroom and living room is $465. Got the reflective type as the guy recommend it will block out the most heat.

Will post some pictures when it is done.

    Hello JAZZ

    Is it?

I wanted to buy from spotlight as I asked the staff over there.

He show me the joint that holds the 2 metal rods.

The colour of the metal rods is almost the same as or metal gate (goldish and brown).

The staff told me can hold half and full drop.

Also the curtains from spotlights are very nice with discount.

If DIY...total demage will be est: $300++ per unit.

I might go and buy one to try it out.

    HAPPY

I brought curtain for my living room and masterbedroom from spotlight. Last month they were having 20% storewide discount, so quicky grab. I did the installation myself, the drilling was pretty bad.

Unless you have experience in drilling, better to ask contractor to do it for u.

  5. Thank eveyone for gate bolt matter.I will discuss with my wife.. :)

Btw what procedure we need to do before we can watch TV in our new area.

    Pls advise.Thanks

You can watch Free-to-air channels already, just that need to tune to the frequency.

    Hi dunkmycar,

Yup, RTM 2 and TV3 will be gone..

I didnt purposely activate it.. for my unit.. it just got activated one day..

So guess, in the end all the units will be activated etc..

    :dancingqueen:

not only MY channels, CNA also gone. Mine TV is connected to both TV anntenna and SCV box. After they installed the box, the tuned channels for CNA, RTM2 and TV3 are gone. :dunno:

  6. Thanks kriegs for your advise.

May I know where you bought your doorbell chim? H

ow much did you pay for it?

Went to the Self-Fix Shop at Tiong Bahru Plaza but they have run out of stocks for wire doorbells...

Seems to me that most shops sells wireless instead.

i brought mine at Marina Square Home-Fix. Mine is same brand as onepostwonder - legrand :bangwall:

  7. Yes happy, I saw the doorbell point already at the kitchen area.

Tomorrow going to buy 1 x doorbell to get my contractor to install. Basiaclly I just wish to use the doorbell button supplied by HDB instead of wireless.

If I use wireless, does it mean I shld get my contractor to remove the one by HDB? (as in dun have 2 doorbell button?) or if I get the wired one, it must be run by electricity (plug to socket?)

wah so confusing man for a sotong like me .....over a doorbell

if using the HDB doorbell point, get a non-wireless one that is operated by battery. I using it now. My contractor told me it easier and cost less than having it directly connected to electricity.

btw, it using bare wires to connect up, no socket point or plug.

  8. Found it to be struggle to run cables through my false wall for my TV and equipment.

Is there any tips or tools to ease this process? I need to pull thru some HDMI cables, my tv has been mounted and can't imagine the nightmare of going thru the process again. !!

make use of existing wire that is being ran to pull thru new cable/wire. Use masking tape to secure both ends of the cable/wire. Abit of pull and push shld work.

    Not easy, so good luck.
