  1. Hi KER

    Your house really nice!

Good job done by your id!!!

Your wardrobe really caught my eye.

    Is it black frosted glass??

    HAPPY

    Hi Happy

Its glossy laminate... no $$ for glass :D

    NICE!!!!!!

    Really love your black tiles!

Thanks! They are very cooling too :thumbs up:

yea the black tiles are nicely done. would've been better if the grout was black too tho imo.... if there is even such a thing as black grout that is...

The grout lines are black in color but they are non reflective hence it appears like what you had seen it pics.

    :dribble:

ur floor tiles very blindin! (need shades to go ur hse.....)

They are nice to see but hard to maintain :curse:

  2. hi all,

the hss rack is from Naiya trading 64417809, recommended by a few of our neighbours here

thanks to simpleboi and binzz :yamseng:

oh ya check with Naiya trading the price first. duno whether price increase or not cos nowadays metal price is getting more costly

Thanks Yang Guo for the contact! :D

Btw any fellow membinians have lobang for installing solar film to windows? Thinking to install to reduce the heat to my unit. Thanks.

    Keropi

  3. Hi Happy,

the lock cost $128 with installation.

u see my pic, there is another gold colour lock there? actually not much difference in terms of the quality. only convenience

    - 1 need to carry here and there (As per msbean description :notti: ). This can be solve by doing up a chain fixed to the gate. cheaper alternative.

    - the other is fixed to the gate for convenience and can lock 2 ways. cost more

    hi happy,

here is the wall to wall type. 1 cost $110, 1 cost $90. Total 2rack needed to make it wall to wall=$200

  4. Hi Keropi,

I got the 16L one. The 16K one costs $782 and the 10L one abt $300 or $400. I think coz the 10L one is battery ignition. No charges for the tech staff to do the on site eval. Just call city gas to arrange for appointment. They will just drop by. As you know, for Jln Membina there only one place to place the gas heater i.e. between the common toilet and the kitchen window. I dun know abt the other heaters but for the 16L, Citygas need to install a 'Flue' (some sort of a ventilation tube out your kitchen window'. So it will be from the top of your heater and goes out of the top glass panel of your kitchen window and after installation, that top panel of your kitchen window cannot close liao. Ask more to the tech staff when they come down to your place...

By the way, Love your switches... where did you get them? Can you tell me the address of the shop? PM me if not convinient. Thank you...

Aiyo, hole in pocket already so cannot afford to buy the 16L one since sooooooo costly !! According to Grumpybear, 5L ones are available.. so will decide between 5L & electric storage heater ..unless 8L ones arrive within next 2 wks then will consider no more. Nevertheless, thanks very much for yr advice

Got the switches from Choo Chiang Marketing, Toh Guan branch, Tel +65 6515 6459 . There are several branches in SG, perhaps you visit their website http://www.ccm.sg/index.html and look for the branch nearest to you?

  5. Hi Keropi,

Did you pay extra to have the shelves in brown rather than the usual white shelves?

And also, where did you get the light and how much?

    Hello skywolf

Mention to ID tat cabinets look betta wif internal POLYKEM so tried to convince him to do FOC for us but he didn't give definite yes or no just "i will do my best". From the way he sounded, we didn't expect to be pleasantly suprised wif the FOC internal POLYKEM shelves for the MBR wardrobe eventually !!

All my closed ones who saw the lamp commented its nice too. :notti: Bought it from Lights Arcade @ $325. However not bright enuff for reading, thus will be getting desk lambs and probably a standing lamp as well...

  6. Hi Keropi,

Nice Floor tiles at livingroom! I love your bathrooms as well.. Btw..my husband called up City Gas to enquire for the Heater. Apparently they said they have stocks for the 5 Litre one. Which cost ard $270 .. I think (cant rem the price).. but they are going to have a promotion for the new 8 Litre one.. selling at only ard $150.. but will only be available in June. We are also having a hard time on this cos we also plan to move in probably in May if possible..

thanks GrumpyBear, oh dear we'll have to bathe in cold water if 8L available in June !! can die wor, so cold .... will the 5L one allow 2 bathrooms to be used simultaneously? recently, a bit skeptical of using gas heater cos dunno how safe they are compared to electric storage heater. any gas leakage issues u heard of??

  7. Hi Keropi,

Wahh I can only wipe my dripping saliva looking at your reno :( !! !!

btw, are you waiting for the 8 litres gas heater from city gas in May? If you want to, you can actually get the 10 or 16 litres one... As usual City Gas will be very reluctant to sell you the 10 litre and 16 litre one. No idea why but they always say" this one not for HDB". But after some deliberation, they ask me to make an appointment with their technical staff to evaluate whether I can use the bigger capacity ones (i.e. the 10 or 16 litres one).

After the technical staff came, they told me that I can go up to 16 litres... and I went down to visit City Gas again and purchase the 16 litres gas heater. I just told tham that their technical staff already give me their green light. So no problems there.

For your info, my flat is a 3 room unit at 26A.

    Cheers!

    hello tingkap :notti:

Many thanks for sharing the info! yes yes we are still waiting for the 8L one, called citygas several times and the shipping dates given aren't definite. Some say April & others say May :D

Eventually, what heater capacity did u get? What is the price of 10 & 16L heater? Any charges for technical staff to do on site evaluation?

    Thanks for the help!

  8. Majority of carpentry is up. Overall, we are rather pleased with workmanship but nothing is perfect, still need simple touching ups here & there... Next week is critical & exciting for us as finally able 2 c our black glass effect in the living & kitchen

  9. Feel so happy that all the tiling job has completed and today is the 1st round of cleaning before carpentry installation 2 weeks later. Now the main headache is when the city gas heater will be available. We called up City gas & they apparently have !! when the heater is coming!! :jawdrop: Targetting to move in by early May so pray hard that stocks will be available by then. Worse come to worst, we'll go for electric storage heater but heard that the electricity consumption is very high... dunno how true... sigh..

Anway, here's a pic of our living room,

  10. Hi Keropi,

Congrats. We're also from Jln Membina and also using Fuse Concept... so far so good.

All the best for your reno!

    Hi blueToffee,

Thanks and best of luck to your reno as well 8| Are you staying in 25B too?

Currently our tiling job is almost complete except for laminate flooring to start next Mon! All I can say is, we're quite satisfied wif the tiling workmanship so far other than a little hiccup at the beginning of reno.

  11. Hi crazycar,

Nice & modern 3D designs you have :P . Can tell you also go for the black, grey & white theme :notti:

Btw, may I noe if your aircon trucking comes after/before wetworks? My reno is scheduled to start on 3Mar.

Ist on the schedule is electrical works follow by aircon. On the other hand, was told by the aircon vendor that wet works must be done first b4 aircon trucking. We are kinda confused and :dancingqueen: who's right .

    Thanks

    Keropi

  12. hi neighbour,

hope not to late to spam here. :dancingqueen: nice selection of tiles. you consider fast already. we went to lian seng hin 3 times, spending a total of 6 hours, before finally concluding our tiles. :notti:

BTW we are also relaying all our kitchen and toilet tiles. One thing you may want to take note of is that after overlaying, your kitchen floor will be higher than your living room. That is why my ID suggested to us to hack the kitchen floor instead of overlaying.

Hi crazycar, according to our ID hacking of kitchen tiles is not permitted by HDB which is why we overlay the tiles. How did u manage to get approval to hack kitchen tiles & how much is the hacking fee? Yes, ID did highlight that kitchen floor will be higher but he could help us level it wif living room floor however may need to trim all the bedroom doors. Do you have this requirement as well?

    hi,

are those tiles from Hafary? i think i saw them there. Btw, i took about 3 hrs to select tiles (including smoke and coffee break...haa......) so tired after that.

    cheers!

    Halo msmurf,

No, all from Lian Seng Heng (LSH). We went to Hafary at first but nothing could catch our eyes there so ID brought us to LSH next door and indeed LSH has more variety & better looking tiles.

  13. Hey Keropi,

temporary keep e unwated new fittings somewher (shelter or locked rm).

If u confirmed wont b using e items, can consider sellin them now at discounted rate.

If not, wen e reno is near complete, u may wana sell e items then.

e risk 2 take note is dat e items u r storing temporary is kinda many & bulky, it may b lost or damage durin e process, & may even slow dn e reno progress.

    u can post here ->

RenoTalk Forums > Post Renovation Forums > Garage Sales & Exchange Corner

    :dancingqueen:

thanks jaCKY777 for the link :P Well, our folks want our toilet bowls & basins so i'm waiting for ID to revert if possible to transfer them to my folks home. If cannot, then we'll post them in the garage sales corner :notti:

  14. Keropi

saw your signature that you are eyeing on RINNAI hob & hood too.. you have any lobang to get even cheaper?

now, citygas have 10% discount for RINNAI but till 31 Jan only!

    thanks Nemofc for sharing :yamseng:

went to the highly recommended Poh Joo store to check out the rinnai pricing last mth and was quoted as follows: -

    1. RB-2CG + RH-382 = $960

    2. RB-2CG + RH-985C = $1285

as we walked around Jln Besar, we happened to c Hoe Kee so went in to enquire pricing as well and got an even lower quote :

    1. RB-2CG + RH-382 = $880

    2. RB-2CG + RH-985C = $1200

wonder if above prices are better than citygas discount? !!

  15. Hi KER

Maybe you keep all the default items in your HSS for the time being.

Really a waste to throw it away.

Btw...what type of tiles you gonna use for your whole floor??

    HAPPY

    Halo Happy,

    Tks for yr suggestion :)

We expect to have limited space in the HSS cos part of the space will be used for shoe storage. So might indeed have to dispose them if not possible to resell !!

Living room cum passage way : Granite black galaxy

    Foyer +Kitchen +Bathroom : Homo tiles

    Bedroom : Laminates

  16. Welcome to the JM Neighbourhood :)! :jawdrop:

Wah.. Looks like your reno quite ex without all bedroom flooring, electrical works and aircon..

Think u have a lot of carpentary works right? Look forward to your reno photos!!!

no, didn't really spend alot on carpentry wor.. we would say 50 50 for tiling & carpentry..

cos we overlay both bathroom wall & floor tiles, overlay kitchen floor files & plastering kitchen walls lor
