  4. Hi butterscotch, how much it cost to remove the service yard door and window panel? Mind to share how much u paying for the whole reno?

They initially charged us $100 for removal of service yard’s window panels and door. As they know we are on tight budget, they got their tiler to remove foc :sport-smiley-004: .

As for the total renovation cost, we spend about 40k :( after many add-ons to our initial plan...

  5. Updates: Actually, our renovation is about to be completed... However, we will like to share our experiences with everyone here!

During the hacking of the flooring, they brought us to Hafary to choose tiles. We were overwhelmed by the selection of tiles they have...

We wanted 60cm x 15cm wood grain tiles for the bedroom and living room as this length of tiles is below $3.50. We are only able to select tiles which is below $3.50 due to the budget constraints. However, the selection of this type of tiles is limited and out of stock. We were disappointed due to the lack of selection. On the other hand, we have found the tiles for our Kitchen, Toilet Floor Tiles (as we planned to overlay) and one side of the Toilet Wall Tiles (to cover the mosaic).

Due to the lacked of selection, Nic told us to choose other length of wood grain tiles first which cost more. They will later bring us to Soon Bee Huat to see if our preferred size tiles is available there. In case of Soon Bee Huat do not have the type of tiles we want, at least we have a reservation in Hafary on our initial choice. We found our ideal tiles at Soon Bee Huat and it is within our budget!

We didn’t capture many photos during the hacking process and here are the pictures of it.

  6. Morning everyone!

We are actually quite 'picky' during inspection of our flat as we have paid for a premium flat. During our defects checking, we have identified more than 200 defects in our house :angry2:.

We also found that our living room tiles, which came together with it, the tiles are not really flat. We can see that the side of the tiles are slightly bended :(. We are quite particular about this because we have heard of cases of wrapped tiles. The wrapped tiles after a period of time, the tiles may pop out. Therefore, we decided to redo the floorings for the entire house.

  7. Our proposed layout to Nic & Cf...

We decided to remove the folding door & window panel at the service yard to make the kitchen looks bigger. We will also be doing windows and window grills at the service yard too!

  8. Here is the copy of the floor plan of our new home...

    3. Top and bottom cabinets for kitchen

    4. L-shaped wardrobe @ main bedroom

    6. Wardrobe at bedroom 3 (bedroom for our infant)

  9. Hi everyone, We have been silent readers on t-blog and it's finally our turn to start our blog!!

Though we collected our keys in July 2014, we were not in a hurry to move due to a young infant (worried about the dust and noise from renovation projects around).

Like everyone, we begin our quest to search for my 'perfect' id whom understands our needs/demands as well as fits our tight budget. We were very clear not to overwhelm ourselves with too many choices so we met with the only the following companies' ids.

    - Posh Home

    - Sky Interior

    - Ideal House

    - Renoguyz

After deliberating our choices, we ended our search by picking Renoguyz (Nic). I supposed many are very familiar with Nic from Renoguyz. We felt that they understood our needs/demands the best and also fitted our budget very well.

Will update this blog with more details and pictures soon!! =)
