  9. Hi Fannz, This curtain shop is recommended by my ID, they are called yoursfurnishing (www.yoursfurnishing.com.sg). Anyone has experience working with them?
  10. Hi El LoCo, Could you share some pictures and detailed info in terms of how you've managed to covered up the powerpoint wiring ?
  11. Quotation for curtain is 3.1 K ! Wow...didn't know suede curtains are so expensive. Any feedback ? https://www.flickr.com/photos/130732899@N02/16136794930/
  12. This is the reply from the Aircon company - CoolForce Thanks for the layout plans and the phone call earlier. There will be no extra cost for the cancellation job order tomorrow. The installers are not aware of false ceiling work as there is no renovation layout & perspective plan provided. Therefore, to minimize sight of too many trunking; they can only install them on the low-wall side, in-line with the water drainage pipe in the same trunking. The installers did discussed on the Aircon position & piping route before approval was given to carried out installation. Additional information: Inside these trunking, there is drainage pipe to allow condensate water to drain, there must be gradient to allow smooth water flow to outlet. I wish to clarify that even with false ceiling to hide majority of the ‘gas pipe’ trunking, there will still be sight of trunking at the corner of the Aircon, as well as the trunking for ‘water drainage pipe’. (Attached were the sample sketches sent to ID last Friday.) https://www.flickr.com/photos/130732899@N02/16138358997/ https://www.flickr.com/photos/130732899@N02/16136853420/ https://www.flickr.com/photos/130732899@N02/16298287256/ https://www.flickr.com/photos/130732899@N02/16298287536/in/photostream/ Unlike condominium or private houses with higher ceiling height and that it is allowed to conceal both ‘gas pipe’ & ‘drainage pipe’ behind of wall / tiles; the installation method were different. For HDB flats, it is not allowed to carry conceal pipe work behind the wall / underneath the tiles. There are various areas where I could not do up the illustration, I can arrange an appointment on site for better clarification. Let me know if you’re fine with the arrangement.
  13. Hi El LoCo, Now you've made me double depressed. Coz my powerpoint wirings is all over the place as well although not as visibly disturbing as the Aircon Trunking.
  14. Hi Fannz, I install the aircon first before the false ceiling. I left it to my ID to take care with the Aircon man since she is the "expert". My ID told me that no way to hide the cable in false ceiling. Should just build a feature wall to cover everything up (extra cost). But I was scanning through all the home deco books and websites. Their aircon looks like this https://www.flickr.c...02/16135603768/. Not sure why I am reducing my ceiling by 6 inches for false ceiling when I can't even hide this . So depressing.
  15. I need help. Although my ID has done up a false ceiling, the Air Con Trunking is floating outside and is destroying the look of the entire bedroom and living room. See pix here Aircon Trunking Bedroom https://www.flickr.com/photos/130732899@N02/16322249942/in/photostream/ Aircon Trunking Living Room https://www.flickr.com/photos/130732899@N02/15700690914/ I have already paid $2800 for the Aircon Installation and Bracket. Now they need me to pay another $700 for dismantling and re-installation. Is this normal ? Why is it that other people Aircon looks like this ? https://www.flickr.com/photos/130732899@N02/16135603768/ While mine looks like that ? https://www.flickr.com/photos/130732899@N02/16297338236/ :-( Sooooooo Ugly
  16. Hi El LoCo, It's on the top floor. The ceiling is 3 m.

  18. Hi Alternate, No issues with HDB. As what El LoCo has mentioned, bathtub is in the Kitchen area thus it's not an issue. Also, you need to have a free-standing bathtub not the undermount kind. As for the Kitchen, because I am using a induction hob (electricity) instead of gas so no issues to move the kitchen to the living room.
  19. Hi DaddyWinter, Yah..quite a number of ID were reluctant to accommodate to the floor plan I had in mind. Keep fingers crossed
  20. Hi El LoCo, Sure. Will pm you the ID name. I do not want to share it publicly here until I see that they've delivered as promised ;-).
  21. I am converting my 3 room HDB (59sqm + 9sqm) into a Spa-Cafe-Boutique Hotel Suite. Here's were my requirements to the IDs : •The Space must be Bright•Good to introduce an element of Green. Owner may eventually want to grow a herb garden in the Balcony.•The Space must give a luxurious feel. Returning Home is like going back to a 5 star hotel executive suite.•Owner would like to be able to entertain at home near the kitchen bar / balcony. (Have a cup of coffee / dinner with frens)•Owner works from home. Thus, needs little cosy areas where she can work on her laptop, read an ipad / documents while drinking coffee. i.e. Café Feel.•Owner only does basic cooking thus does not need an elaborate Kitchen.•Owner would like things to be hidden as much as possible so that it doesn’t collect dust and cleaning doesn’t have to be such an arduous effort.•Owner is not particular with the Bedroom as she spends most of her time in the living room. •The walk-in wardrobe should be able to convert into guest room whenever needed.•Owner would need a space to put her piano.•Owner may rent out the unit in future. Thus, try to keep the design neutral i.e. not too feminine. After talking to 2 serious ID, 1 half baked ID and 2 really unprofessional ones. I finally shortlisted the following floor plan. Here's my original floor plan :https://www.flickr.com/photos/130732899@N02/16117336639/ Here's the floor plan proposed by my ID that I finally shortlisted because the space resonates with my requirements. https://www.flickr.com/photos/130732899@N02/15681070814/in/photostream/ Unfortunately, the ID didn't provide me with the visual that resonates so well with the floor plan and I finally switch to another new id that came in after the shortlist process. Here are the design that made me select them1) Cafe Kitchenhttps://www.flickr.com/photos/130732899@N02/16116220670/2) Cafe Living Roomhttps://www.flickr.com/photos/130732899@N02/16117747297/in/photostream/3) Cafe Balconyhttps://www.flickr.com/photos/130732899@N02/16277670586/in/photostream/4) Boutiquehttps://www.flickr.com/photos/130732899@N02/15683721613/in/photostream/5) Spahttps://www.flickr.com/photos/130732899@N02/16302723632/in/photostream/ I am halfway through my renovation, in the coming weeks, I hope to share my renovation journey and experience in this blog. I am keeping my fingers crossed to see whether the end product looks as good as the rendering.
