    Yeah, he is really just trying his luck.

    Putting things in perspective, $488K - $275K (compensation amt) - $30K (discount for replacement flat) = $183K. Now the reason why someone would buy a SERS flat is because of the intangible benefits that will be inherited, which include guarantee of getting the replacement flat?

    In other words, you pay $183K to guarantee yourself an unit, compared to others who will take a chance at the public ballot 4 years later. Would you do that? The answer will determine if this seller asking price of $488K can come true... :P

    So buyer have to fork out 305K cash???

    Coz the unit value only 183K...

    Wah i realli wan to know the buyer, if any....

    Still a lot of people walk from Tanglin Halt "16th storey" to buy from SS.

    With the railway track running thru/behind, personally feel a bit restricted to develop the land (up to Bouna Vista).

    Hopefully they won't build another 40 storey to block me. :(

    You side maybe block by dawson development.

    For mi all the while no view......

    But i afraid the big soccer field build 40 storey, that goes my wind...

    So how when free to meet up for THUM, i think i got a long time never go down... THUM still on!!!

    EN Bloc also good... that mean got upgrade.... hope more facilites

    Btw, the 32" you mentioned is ur living room one? or you have another one in the bedroom? Is 32"ig enough? my brother 32" big enough but that day at THUM, TYM told me maybe too small, i dunno...maybe depend on personal feel...32" or 37"?....hmmm :dunno:

    ok, sure...but i dun have transport leh...by the way, can i cash and carry a 32" LCD TV in mrt or buses? Or i sit at ur bike behind carry the tv!? haha... :P

    My living room 37", my master bedroom 32"

    For our 4 room living room max you can go 42... view the entire screen wihtout moving your eye or head will be good, if have to moving your eye around den is too big liao

    My bedroom abit special.. my viewing distance very far but i onli put 32 inch coz no budget hahha... my master bedroom ideal size is around 47"

    Hmm.....in terms of brand, price, quality, function, etc, I think I must set my priorities right before making a decision at the PC show or at any GSS shops. For example if you saw a brand new 37" LCD TV at S$799, but the brand you never heard of, I will feel unsafe about the reliability of the TV, or maybe you saw a Sony Bravia at below market price, you may wonder why they wanna sell so cheap, is there anything wrong with the TV? These so-called 'gimicks' really can make me stop and think twice lor....sianz...

    I think sometimes must really go for the gut feeling ba plus those comments and recommendations from you all. Anyway, I must thank everybody for that, very much appreciated. :)

    By the way, nice to see new neighbours here... :yamseng:

    Three brands i always recommend... Samsung, Sharp and Sony...

    Panansonic and LG can also be consider... Depend on the price....

    This yr 40/42 inch is the highlight... get something smaller then this will be very cheap...

    Two things to look out for (Digital Tuner control module and resolution colour)

    PC show can get good price... I bought my samsung 32 inch HD ready for 850...

    Would like to check with u guys about window curtains. Do you custom make or bought the ready made ones? My concern is the L-shaped windows for the living room and MBR. Think it's kind of difficult to find suitable curtains for the smaller portion of the windows. Appreciate your sharing pls.

    Got budget.. go for custom make..

    Budget tight.. either dun do 1st or can use string curtain for that small potion..

    For mi i always go for custom made curtain, it look much better...

    Staying at Blk 89 and no complaints from me as well. In fact I found the place abit too quiet, besides the MRT train's noise!

    Ya lor... At nite super quiet.... but now the weather super hot, my MBR like oven like tat...

    when it come to contractor and id, best is to know your stuffs or they will "eat" u. never make full payment until work is done and u are happy. pay money liao everything cannot be done or change. not yet pay money everything can be done. :dancingqueen:

    I think you can set up a consultation booth outside your house and ppl can seek you for advice...

    Dun know where is unit 326, 346 or 348 but wind direction changes throughout the year. So mayb windy now but may not be a few months later. But generally, our estate is windy all year round. Now blowing southwest monsoon (may-sep), wind predominantly from south. From nov-mar, will be blowing northest monsoon, wind predominantly from north.

    I collected keys in jun 07, so almost a year now. My own observations on the general wind direction (if it is an important consideration to u when choosing ur unit):

    May-Aug - South

    Sep-Nov - West

    Dec-Feb - North

    Feb-Apr - East

    think mos burger is asking if the afternoon sun is too hot. installing sun shade film on window might help in cutting down the heat and glare. i feel that it is better to have sun than not any cos can dry my clothes ma :unsure:

    btw, mos burger there is no mos burger downstairs ... only long john silver. hope this don't give u any headache in making your decision again :rofl: the nearest mos burger is at tiong bahru lah. 3 train stops away :P

    Btw i stay at 17-306 Blk91, i kanna afternoon sun, kanna clementi town music and MRT noise.. 3 in 1 package... My advice is get curtain material tat can block the sun and the noise thing sure immune after awhile

    haha.. Hope to see more ppl in the THUM and i alway watch socce rat hm i think can join TYM sat business....

    just read through recent posting on the thread... kind of sporty neighbours!! last sunday just met Oda at the lift lobby early in the morning, he and his wife goin for a morning jog.. Healthy leh... i think time for mi to keep fit too...

    Btw anyone like bowling??? Try to find some kaki here.... Got time can organise morning jogging session...

    The buffet no drinks but got dessert. No worries lah, I will bring some down and get ice also. You just rem to open your door for us :yeah: Also need to borrow ur fridge to keep the yusheng.

    i'm referring to wayne and wife, 2 pax = $30.

    we using his place so its just right that they shouldn't pay for the buffet. thinking if every one chip in a few bucks should be able to cover their cost.
