I'm trying to cut down on carpentry works to save some costs, so was thinking of buying a desk (maybe custom-made) instead of having it built in.
Could anyone share their decision on why they decided to go for either?
My thoughts are that:
For built-in can do the floating desk and have everything fit nicely but you're paying more for installation.
For custom made, I suppose the dimensions cannot be too exact since you need to shove it into the corner.
Advice would be appreciated, thanks!
Built in save space and nice

i really like a particular cabinet online overseas. Can i ask should i buy a custom made kitchen cabinet from overseas (i will tell them all the measurements.) and get someone to help me to install?
What are the cons of this method? , What problems do u foresee i might face?
Are there installers out there willing to help me to install the cabinets? looks like everywhere i go, all the contractors want me to buy their cabinets, they get unhappy when i say i provide my own cabinet.
Really thanks for your input?
may not actual suit for your kitchen.BTW,lots of contractor would no take risk to help install these cabinet.unless, the payment for installation is very high.

if u r keen, I could PM you my wall-builder, Ah Cheong's contact number.
My walls were built by him & he is by far, one of the best candidate you could consult. Very good workmanship & service so he charges a premium. So I'm not sure if you'll prefer a contractor who would provide you a cheaper quotation.
Please take a look at my thread on the process of wall fabrication in my flat by Ah Cheong & his team of workers:

What you are referring to is probabbly gypsum board which is commonly known as partition board. You've got to be careful not to slam, knock or crash into such walls. Otherwise, there'll be cavities & dents.
You are the contractor ?
