  2. whooaaaa :jawdrop::jawdrop: 2k+ so envy lerrrr......... :dancingqueen::dancingqueen:

oh...your seller asking to extend ya, you must be careful loh and must sign black and white if u can sign infront your lawyer or when 1st appointment infront hdb officer. dont sign infront that agent :furious:

thot over 1 week before committing because of the price and during then was looking for a cheaper one but my heart still wnt back to this one :dribble::dribble:

My lawyer say he can't be involve cos he's also representing the bank and the bank don't allow extension and HDB as well. Heard that even if I sign black and white also no use cos 'touch wood' if anything happen, even if we fight, the black and white will not be accepted as evidence :furious::furious:

Still deciding what to do..... :(

    Hihi CutePinkElephant!

Was quoted $2488 then bargain to $2288 but finally bought it and my dining table at $3500. So i think I should be paying $2200 for the sofa... I must say it's REALLLLLY COMFY!

Dun like that say lah :P U not blur okie... Seller wanted extension which I agree so can only collect my keys on the 21st Sept.... U can check out my previous post and read my long long angry post over this issue :angry2:

  4. Got my Sofa and Dining table over the weekend at the Expo...

My loooooong sofa measuring 3.2m by 1.8m in stimulate leather... Filling for the cushion is feathers... :thumbs up::good:

    Sofa.jpg

My Dining table measuring 1.4m by 0.9m but am able to extend both sides to 2m... Not taking the black chairs seen by the side of the table due to space constraints. Instead, opt for the bench as seen in the pix wrap up in leather

  5.

Tink recently lots of agents are getting from bad to worse. Very bad service from lots that I've encountered. Good to read that you are standing up for your own rights!

    Thanks Angel81! :D

I used to be in sales and have encountered numerous of nasty customers so when I'm a consumer, I try to be nice as I know how it feels.... But in situation like this, I've got no choice... Must also let the agents know, dun treat us like suckers! :furious:

  6. Open my letter box today and found a letter from ERA asking for payment for the agent's commission!!! Due Date: Upon 1st appointment!!! :furious::furious:

Called the number provided in the invoice straight away and demanded to know why should I pay the agent's commission so soon... was told "It's our company's policy"... Shoot them back :fire::fire::fire::fire:"Can your company guarantee that the agent will continue to provide me a service after I've made payment?? Will she answer all my calls?? Will she ensure a smooth transaction??!!!"

The lady over the phone told me that I could discuss with my agent over this issue which I told her I've already told the agent I'll only pay her commission upon the official hand-over of my flat to me. She is the seller's agent and we are also using her. She requested for an extension of 3 weeks for them and how sure can I be that a proper hand-over to me will be done during then...

Asked her to note my case and I'll only pay the commission on the hand-over day and not a day earlier.... and on the invoice, it was also stated that they have the right to charge 2% interest per mth for late payment... Told the lady I DO NOT WANT TO SEE ANY INTEREST BEING CHARGE TO ME AS I'M NOT VERY HAPPY WITH THE AGENT'S SERVICE BUT WILL STILL PAY WHAT I'VE PROMISE AND NOT A CENT MORE!!! :furious::furious:

I'll be calling them again tomoro to make sure my point gets across...

  7. Finally went thru my 1st appt last Sat and my 2nd appt will be on 2nd Sept...

Went with 2 of my shortlisted IDs to my new place today for them to do measurements so that they can provide me with a final quotation. Was there for abt an hr and initially the seller's dad kept asking me for extension til after Hari Raya for them and when he finally accepted NO :no: as an answer, he tried to get me extend beyond the 3 weeks I offered them saying his son needs at least 2 weeks to renovate :fire::fire::fire: ... blah and blah... 9. Good one Cyn

Agent too much, getting commission from both sides. That should put her in her place and put the fear of god and our judicial system in both seller and agent.

    Thanks JCase! :P

It's great to be able to seek advice from u guys here and for newbies, they can also learn something from our experience... Look forward to my 1st appt on Sat :dancingqueen::dancingqueen:

  10. hi, can i get kelvin's number as well??

    can anyone PM me? thanks.

this is my first time posting something in the forum.

i stay in a 5 room flat with my family and we are seriously thinking of renovation since our last renovation was 10 years back and many things are already out of order.

Just wondering if anyone knows if a 30 to 40 k budget will be able to do basic yet nice renovation

    including removing of original floor tiles, kitchen tiles, built in wardrobe for 2rooms and a built in table;

including buying of necessities like toilet bowl, kitchen sink, taps, floor tiles

    including electrical re-wiring, building of 3 more wardrobes, vanity tables in 2 toilets, re-tiling of floor, have a feature wall at the living room, a huge shoe cabinet;

including changing of window grills and window planes.

do you guys think it's enough??

just wanna get suggestions and all. =)

    thank you.

Confirm not enough.... I'm doing about the same things as u and so far, am quoted min $44k not inclusive of rewiring and supply of toilet accessories

  11. hihi.. finally started my t-blog. how's your ID hunting?

Tiring!!!!!!!!!! Now narrow down to 2 but at the same time meeting another 2 more tomorrow as well... So far have spoken to 7-8 IDs (can't remember oso)... hopefully can firm things up before the cost of materials go up again...

Your place more than 50% done up oreadi??

    :yamseng:

  12. well as mentioned alot of things also take into consideration for them like tiles and walls cos scared they pee and stain the tiles or cause laminates to pop out etc... doors also another problem cos they might scratch the doors... :(

unfortunately we did plan something for them which is not to their liking. LOL. a glass door to separate the kitchen and living area so that they will be jailed in the kitchen when we not around... :P

Hahaha... know what u mean... no laminates for me too but for me, I'm lucky that they dun scratch things....

So their cosy corner will be in the kitchen :P Quite a number of forumers here are dog lovers... guess we can organize a gathering one of these days :yamseng:

  13. no probs. i also in same situation. my seller ask for 6wks extension after completion.

but my agent and seller all seems quite steady so far... nv chut pattern or anyhow one. i even suan the agent about the pte agreement cos she supposed to brief us through the HDB checklist for agents but she purposely skip the agreement part... then i suan her... lol

my seller also quite nice. last night we went simei shopping then just pop by cos we wanna see some things condition that we cant remember like the main door and whether the room got built in wardrobe. she just let us in when she saw us and showed us the stuff. she even say that its possible they can move in early to their new flat and we could takeover before the 6wks extension ends. :)

    Hi hi!

Sms the agent and ask her call me so I dun hv to waste my hp bill on this kind of ppl....

"Whack" her upside down :furious: .... 1st question was "Am I paying you commission??!! I did not shortchange u right??!!" 2nd one was "Did you ever tell us that HDB and the bank do not allow extension and the consequences if they find out??!!" and 3rd one was "Why are you siding the seller more??!!".... Gave her a piece of my mind and told her I will only pay her com when I get my house keys!... Finally they agreed to my request and i make it known to them that I know I have every right to kick them out after the 2nd appt.... but of cos I not so mean lah.... unless they try to be funny again...

At least ur seller easy-going, when's ur official hand over date?... gonna ask my seller to let my ID in to do measurement next week so I can get a confirmation quote cos everything now is by floor plan, and if he rejects..... I can reject oso... I take over on 21st Sept, reno must start on 25th Sept so can move in in time on 6th Dec... I plan every thing nice nice oreadi.... if wan extension must know I will need my things to be done as well...

  14. Hi Cny!

Yeah I think the sofa is a man's thingy. I really don't understand. Anyway I am happy with his choice and thought it is the best and value for money. One of our friends even got the same sofa recently!

Yeah L shaped sofa cost alot nowadays. That price you mentioned is the norm. Try visiting Morris and see if they have anything you may like. That place is pretty out of the way and quite ulu.

I read about ur fustrations with your seller. :furious::argue: This is the biggest headache. :bangwall: I hope things will work out fine for you soon.

    Good luck!

    Samantha

    Hey hey Samantha! :D

Went to IMM yesterday and saw quite a number of sofas but me still thinking abt the one I saw at Expo :( ... It felt so comfy!!! Must agree Morris very far out and if go there during peak hrs sure jam like ****...

My problem finally settled!! :sport-smiley-004: Gave the agent a piece of my mind and me not nice to her anymore... told her will only pay her com when I get my house and not anytime before that... :furious:

    When u moving in??

    :yamseng:
