  1. yeah.... sorry for occupying ur "private" garage ar... hehe... which car is urs?? mine is the black Honda Jazz always parking at lot 469... hahaha.. :notti:

ur one is the yellow one?

Haha no worries, I only park my ride temporarily when I'm visiting

my unit. Usually nearer to Blk B than to Blk C. Noticed the Yellow Getz too.

Think its from your block too. Wah seh, you "booked" that special lot ar.hehe

Your friends and relatives have similar black colored cars like yours hor?

Saw at least 4 black cars parked side by side. :notti:

Didn't realised we are actually staying so close even though we are of different

    blks. :sport-smiley-004:

Btw, anyone has any movers to recommend? Not moving much things though.

Just a queen bed,1 ikea side drawer, 3 ikea shelves. Problem is another single bed need to be shifted from another location. Not sure how much they will quote.

  2. Was wondering why there was a sudden increase in cars

in 6th storey carpark when usually there are only 1-2 cars..

Realised that they are actually guests for Meowie & Hubby

ROM. Remembered earlier they told us they will be holding their

    reception in their unit.

    Anyway, congrats newly weds~~

    :yamseng:

  3. Hi Yeoman,

You can look for me. I got good recommendation for you.

    Babymaro2003

or sms. Been really busy recently.

    - petrol price up again. :o

    - aiyoyo, most expenses go up, y salary neber go up. :(

Thanks for the correction Jacky :P

Yalor, everything up except our salary... :curse:

  4. Talking about money, today(23 May) marks the first day of Great S'pore Sales

till 20 July. Hopefully can see more discounts esp those of electrical

equipments that I'm eyeing for. :notti:

Bad news for drivers though, all cartels have increased petrol prices

    by another 5 cents... :furious:

Think must buy some oil related shares to hedge myself against

the ever increasing petrol price. Any brokers here? :sport-smiley-004:

  5. Many thanks to Yeoman and Bonkitty for showing us their homes today :D

Yeoman, we like your master+study+walk-in wardrobe concept, makes the entire master room very big yet cosy... everything looks almost complete, just need maybe a week to clean up the place and move your stuff in... shouldn't have any problem meeting your auspicious move-in date in June liao!

Bonkitty, clean and cosy concept you have... the curtains are very elegant and reasonably priced for the materials chosen. Impressive home entertainment your hubby has assembled! Got chance must come experience it with some big blockbuster action DVD! Or maybe karaoke cum mahjong session??! :dunno: but must remember cut off time at 11pm otherwise will kena jialat jialat! :dancingqueen:

Gui99, hope to see your home soon... heard alot about it from babymaro... we saw the impressive black door with the massive handlebar today... very bold and daring! :sport-smiley-003:

Thanks for the kind words Meepok.

I think each of us has our unique features in our units.

Bonkitty, thanks for showing us your unit. Must say you all got a nice & comfy

place and a good bargain for your curtains. Nice view from your mbr esp at nite towards the

    roof top garden.

gui99, no worries, it was not a planned visit. will definitely have chances to visit your abode

one of this days. think the only way to test is only when my tv arrives.. However,i remember

very clearly that i did not receive any letters from starhub regarding the activation much less

missed it. Think i will drop an email to them..hope to settle everything before i shift in.

    :yamseng:

  6. They went to visit yeoman and swing by my unit. but i was at ikea shopping for more stuff...

yeah we finish unpacking le... cos we din bring over much from my mum's house :notti::notti:

    slowly bring over lor... :dancingqueen:

    Yo gui99,

So did you manage to get anything from Ikea?

We were all outside your door admiring your black

main door. A pity you were not in.

Hope to cya again soon neighbour.

Btw, which number did you call to get starhub to activate

your SCV connections? I called them but the operator

dun seem to know whether my unit has been activated..

She claimed that usually a mass activation is done and

they do not have individual records of whether any unit

    is activated .. :help:

    :yamseng:

  7. Hi Dracula,

Duro has the same lock with 2 front/back-facing keyholes also... cost slightly more than Castle... but for Duro you need to self-install... Castle Lock uncle will come fix up for you...

I think that shoe repair shop (with a Harley parked infront) next to the 177 furniture shop is selling Duro Locks... but u may want to check out the price from HomeFix or Self-Fix first. Duro should cost about $20+ more than Castle. Think now got promo, buy 1 get 1 free at $140.

The 1 for 1 lock at $148 is over.. (checked with Homefix)

Now the promo is a free water distiller..

If not taking the free gift package the lock itself is $128.. same price

    as Castle lock.

    :yamseng:

my PE cost $400. find by myself.

    ID want to quote $700. : 6

My ID also quoted ard $600-$700+

    I found mine at $300.

Some say cheapest in sg. :sport-smiley-003:

  8. The uncle drill through the gate so that the lock is not easily removed. My previous place was using Duro and the lock come in 2 pieces, instead of 1 whole piece and i just fix it myself.

That's all I know, not sure about other brand though.

Wow, still needs drilling..Yup usually diy locks come in 2 pieces..

Currently considering this castle lock and DURO Art338.

Btw, the "joint" of the 2 piece lock will be "blocked" by the

gate so actually no issue also. Hence, if looking from outside,

it looks like a one piece lock. Currently DURO has a promotion too.

$148 for one big + one small lock..

    http://www.duro.com.sg/promo.html

But well, if so many neighbours interested in Castle lock maybe we can

do a mass order and see whether can have any discount.. Tell uncle

about the DURO promotion maybe can have more discounts.. :notti:

    :yamseng:

  9. Hi yeoman,

I saw the same lock ($140) but didnt buy it. I bot the $70 - $80 range DURO lock + leg (excludes) to support the lock.

I may get the castle lock ($128) in the near future. You may want to consider too.

If you want to view my lock just drop by my unit this evening or tomorrow.

Hey, i also shift in yesterday lay, bring my rice bin and kettle in. :dancingqueen:

Dont know you were at your unit yesterday, if not i will drop by to view. At the same time to view GUI unit.

    Babymaro2003

    :yamseng:

Hmm, so many of you singing praises of castle lock..

Think will get one too. :sport-smiley-003:

Will sms u next time i visit my unit again.

    :yamseng:

  10. Hi, i dun bake in my current hse cos gt no oven but interested in baking. Had plan to install a oven in my new place but scare that it will be a waste of $ if i install n nv use. Just saw a post that say panasonic gt a 3 in 1 microwave which can heat/defrost/grill/bake and cost arnd 400. Which 1 shld i choose cos i dun wan to regret after i made my decision.

    Are you talking about Healsio??

Its quite ex but do wonders..

We bite the bullet and bought one..

    Healthier choice too~~

    :sport-smiley-003:

  11. Congrats to those who 'officially' shifted to their new homes today... if my memory doesn't fail me, 2 of them r moewie49 and bonkitty.. hope everything will be shunshunlili for u and huat ah (rem buy 4D this wkend ;p)

    Should have paid u a visit.haha :notti:

So ur starhub connection up and running..

    :sport-smiley-003:

    Hi Mapleleaf,

Tension got her lock from the lift advertisment (castle lock) can look for Mr Low. Price : $128-00. It seem to have v good secure. I got mine from Home Fix DURO brand at $70 plus.

    Babymaro2003

    :yamseng:

    Hi babymaro2003,

I saw DURO locks from home fix also.. Looks good. But think the promotion over..

It was $140+ buy 1 get 1 free. Did u get that same lock?

Btw, does anyone know the "dimensions" we need for the lock?

Later buy liao cannot install den :bangwall:

    :yamseng:

  13. the effects of quantity(numbers) is nothing compare to just 1 small mirror place at the wrong location. cos it will be disastrous!!!

most fsm shuns 2 and 5, but then when comes to numbers each individual is different. 2 and 5 doesnt mean UNLUCKY to everybody.

    Thanks for the reply Mace.

Felt more at ease now. :sport-smiley-003:

My fsm did not comment on the positioning of my mirrors.

Guess should be alright. Will try to "reflect" good stuffs to

    the mirrors. :notti:

    :yamseng:

  14. I read some info from the website.

Conclusion is generally if the mirror reflect good things like

abundance of food, crystals, basically good stuffs eg wealth,

then its good. Something like multiplying effect.

However, do not reflect things like uncleared rubbish, messy

area, or have them in such a way when u are looking at the

mirror, your head got chopped off or something to that effect.

    Any truth in the above?

    Appreciate comments from the pros~~.

    :sport-smiley-003:

if you considering full height types, those types will require 2-3 mirror parts to join 1 big mirror 'cos it will be hard to carry a very big piece of mirror up to your place esp if you stay high floor. Other than that, not sure if ok with having 1 piece of mirror for dining area in terms of FS

My FSM passed me a stack on notes and one of them mentioned that

    having 1 or 3 mirrors = auspicious

Not to have 2 piece mirror..

Not sure how true.. As i'm doing full height mirror for my living area,

hence, using 3 horizontal piece instead with the middle piece the largest.

  15. Hi folks,

Understand that some of us here might have full height

mirrors in our living/dining room for various reasons esp

to beautify and magnify our limited area.

According to fengshui, does it matter how many pieces

of mirror are considered auspicious or inauspicious?

I heard 1 or 3 is good and 2 piece is not good.. true? :dunno:

Reason is becos 1 full piece mirror is usually not big enough

to cover the whole wall and normally will require a combination

    of 2-3 pieces of mirror..

some said having too many pieces of mirror will seem like cutting

a person to many pieces when u r looking at the mirror..

Any comments? Thanks in advance to any advise~~

    :sport-smiley-003:

  16. yeah will definitely have chance to meet everyone... :notti:

think there are a total of 8 units on our floor. Yeah let's help each other look out and make our floor safe. :dancingqueen:

Haha you know which unit the couple stay? Maybe the ones you talk about is us cos so far we haven say hi to anyone yet except our next door neighbour.. shy la :unsure:

  17. Hi Yeoman...

I got home, read the forum and found out that there was a house hopping :notti::notti:

Was abit taken back by the huge group and too stun to say hi :jawdrop::jawdrop:

Yup yup moving this coming thurs. very excited.

I am staying right at the corner near the exit. Actually we are quite concern security about staying too close to the exit staircase, esp when a person can hide behind the door and open the door from the other side :dunno::dunno:

Too bad u didnt read the forum earlier.. No probs, there are lotsa other chances.

About the concern of security, must start building good relationship with your

neighbour next door. Can help each other keep a lookout.

Think we have a total of 8 units on our floor rite? Well, from this forum gotta

know you and Liana79B. Currently on gd relation with my opposite neighbour too.

Have seen another young couple too but they dun look too friendly.. :P

Maybe they are just too shy..

Lets all be more vigilant and friendly and I believe we can make Blk 79 or at least

our floor, a safe and nicey place to stay in. Cya soon Gui99~~

    :yamseng:

  18. Think my wife and I bump into one big group of people on Sat around 2 plus at the lift area. Is that the house hopping gang on Sat?? :D

Hi gui99, that would be us..I figured that both of you

could be our same floor neighbours . :yamseng:

You stay at the other end? (my end is near the carpark)

Perhaps we can exchange contacts and do house visit

    sometime soon.

If my memory did not fail me, you are shifting on this thu,

    15 may?

    :sport-smiley-003:

Yeah man. Totally agree. Its just a small island after all.

Next time got more kaki to go kpo kpo :notti:

Yeah man, too bad we are not in the same reservist unit anymore.

If not can go reservist together next time..haha :notti:

    :sport-smiley-003:

  19. Gain City AMK quoted me $1039 nett. I was quoted around $953 too from the Authorised Dealer. Call me Kiasu, I'll be getting my 403V fridge tomm morning. Panasonic will be delivering it to me. I believe I am the 1st consumer to get hold of the 403V. I spoke to the Panasonic marketing personnels, they were shocked that how come I very garang, no need to view display/show-room unit, already get hold of it. Since I already aimed for the 402V previously, so I just grab 403V without any viewing. Will post report or if possibly take a few pic for you guys if I can. Previously Panasonic list price for out-going 402V is $999 and current 403V list price is $1099. High chance price will drop in future, but don't care lah. Was surprised that the dealer did not ask for any booking fee, all based on trust. The dealer ask me go down tomorrow to pay them after I received the fridge from Panasonic

Courts, Best, HN no price list yet, not key into the computer system. Should be out by next week.

Hi sporter, steady man. You be the first to own this model~~

Can pm me the dealer's contact too? Will look forward to ur

    review and pics~~

Since i'm only moving in in june, may hold my horses till the

great s'pore sales and see if the price drops further~~

    :yamseng:

  20. Hi Tension,

Yes. Security indeed is very much lacking in our neighbourhood.

So far, doorbells have been stolen, flats broken into, shoes stolen, cars broken into, etc. The sky garden school kids ruckus seems minor by comparison. So much for being just next to the NPC!

I did not mean for forummers to take time off and do guard duty or foot patrol around the neighbourhood... just need to be more alert to things happening around oneself... and call in the relevant authorities should one spot suspicious characters or crime in action.

Look out, help and advise one another like how we did for our reno process... that's all. Civic mindedness doesn't take much effort. :yamseng:

    Well said !!

Let's just do our part and be civic minded.

Who knows when we be targeted next? :dunno:

We dun expect the authorities to stand guard outside

our house the whole day rite? :notti:

For those who are not in this "kampong" and seeking for

attention or trouble, please go elsewhere. Let's make this

forum a nice place for fellow neighbours to share and gain

knowledge and not a battlefield.. :horse:

    :yamseng:

  21. Hi Neighbours...

Wow a lot of reno completion soon...can I join in the hse hopping to Yeoman, Coco_myb, etc etc...

Meowie: Thanks for dropping by my unit to look at the scratches..once again i envy ur island and ur refrigerator!!!! And pls ignore TPY!!

To all neighbours- its really great knowing each other and all the help and advice during the process of my reno...unfortunately some ppl dun see the importance of networking....it goes a long way.....it has been a great experience with the neighbours of 79ers....friendly and helpful ppl...unlike some....

nowadays not many have this kind of 'neighbourship spirit' ....many live in closed doors not knowing wahts happening ard the neighbourhood..or who their neighbours are...

anyway for a start for tomorow hse hopping shall we add on to the list of who is keen for tomorrow hse hopping...

PS: i have to be at my unit abt 3pm - installation of rollerblind....
