  1. I have a different problem.. :bangwall:

3 pairs of slippers were stolen from my shoe rack outside my gate

    last week..

Pls beware and keep ur "expensive" or unique footwear in the house.

Do report to NPP if you spot any suspicious person(s) lurking around

carry big plastic bags.. Likely they are the culprit!!

  2. Yo fellow Blk 79 neighbours,

I had a tough time booking for a car polishing appmt

to have my car looking new and shiny for the coming CNY.

Almost all the slots are full until after CNY.

I managed to find a mobile car polisher (reservist friend) who

will come down with his partner to polish my car this coming

Sat (6 feb) at our mscp.

However, he needs me to find another 2-3 cars before

they are willing to take on the job.

The cost per car is $70. Based on what he told me, it will be quite a

comprehensive package which will include polishing, claybar, sealant,

waxing, leather treatment and rims polishing as well.

Anyone interested pls pm me with your contact number.

    Thanks!!

I agree with Stormcontrol, since most of us have settled our reno works.

This thread is pretty much dead.. Perhaps a poster at the lift lobby will get

    better response.

  6. Any low floored neighbours "disturbed" by this continuous car alarm siren throughout the night?

I believed its the same off peak car that caused this disturbance. :curse:

It happended few mths back also.. :furious:

This neighbour ought to be :fire:

If you are reading this, kindly do something to your car alarm. Thank you.

I believed the neighbours opposite our blk will suffer most as they are closer

    to the mscp..

  7. Yo Pooh,

Good job there bro. On my way home tonight, saw a parking enforcer doing her rounds ard 8pm.

But well, the free loaders are not dumb either, they normally come after 10pm or later i think.

Will feedback to this Mr Tham. Any email address? easier to email to him rather than call.

I doubt they will implement ERP parking though..

Btw I heard that the new TPY HDB project (The Peak) will have card access for their

sky garden etc.. This is something I hope Blk 79 can have. Can avoid having "free fallers" or

hooligans from coming up either to end their lives or commit "illegal" acts such as vandalism

    etc..

    Cheers

    Hi Yeoman,

I have been actively doing my part to inform HDB parking enforcement as I am really fed up with all these free loaders.

However, it seems the vendor that HDB engaged for our area always do not appear or will relay a false report back to the HDB carpark enforcement call centre that these free loaders have gone by the time they arrive.

So, we are basically playing a losing game against these freeloaders. However, you may contact the HDB officer in charge of our area. Mr THAM KAI HONG ( Tel: 65515660), HDB Carpark Section. We need more residents to feedback to HDB so that they can take more concrete measures.

Hopefully, they will implement ERP parking at our MSCP. These will definitely deter all those free loaders and free up space for us residents.

  8. Hi Pooh, I agree with you. This is especially so during weekends & holidays.

These ppl usually park overnite and disappear early next morning while the wardens

normally only come in the afternoons or evenings..

Well, we can do our part to reduce the number of "free loaders".

Just a phone call away 1800-2721409. Think this number is for parking enforcement.

Will not have to take such actions if the "free loaders" are more "automatic" and park

their car at the highest floor where its usually empty.

    Hi Jacky,

I think i saw this dummy driver park in the motocycle lots as well. Don't know how they pass their driving test.

To answer your question no. 3, HDB parking enforcement is very lax in our MSCP.

Last time when we first moved in, i would see them patrolling the MSCP very often. But lately, hardly see them on their rounds.

If you notice, there are many drivers without season parking coupons, parking their vehicles in our MSCP for many nights in a row without getting fined. Esp on the upper decks. you can easily tell because they like to park their cars head in first with 1 or 2 coupons on their dashboard. For those who drive, now you know why if you come back later in the evening, you will have problems finding a parking lot.

WTF, maybe we residents should stop buying season parking coupons and follow suit like these drivers.

Guess we will save alot of money since HDB parking enforcement never do their work.

  9. Let's just be more vigilant and keep a lookout for suspicious looking person

especially when we return home at wee hours.

I think there are oso quite a number of non-season holders drivers who park their cars

here overnight. As i usually park at quite a high level at a particular location,

if i do come back home after 11pm+, the lots will surely be taken. The funny

thing is they all disappear early next morning.. The situation is worse during weekends &

    public holidays.

On a side note, I do see some nice cars in our carpark, a black c class merc, silver lexus,

and a few BMs. any owners here? :D

  10. Yo!

you also want a cut out of the liverpool logo or window film?

    Haha...

If you want the cut out, then u let me know wats the size u want and i can get the quote for you.

    :notti:

I prefer arsenal logo leh. :sport-smiley-003:

Actually i dun really need window film.

sticker or decal good enuff liaoz.. :good:

  11. Why dun you just ask the print shop to do a cut out for your logo in vinyl sticker and stick onto your kitchen glass door instead of having the whole glass door in transparent sticker?

You can look for James @ The Signs Centre at Bras Basah Road Level 1. Can neg with him and quality is up to standard.

    :notti:

Bro, u got lobang? I wana do a relatively small one the

size of a window pane, ANy idea how much will that cost? :dunno:

  12. Sorry to side track,

sales urgently. Expiring end of Sep. Anyone interested?

    $44 for 2 tickets.

Do drop me a pm if interested.

    Thanks.

But quite interested in the badminton game though. =)

  13. Attention all neighbours,

There have been sightings of "Suspicious beings aka Aliens" at staircase landings prying on victims to "abduct" in blk 79E during the hours of 8pm - 2am. Please be careful when going home and the police have been informed, they say to call 999 (like i dun know the number :bleah: ) if any of these suspicious beings are being "spotted" which we may have been deem to be threatened by "it".

This is not a joke, serious!

Carry a baseball bat of wooden plank when walking home alone at night. :notti:

PS: Guns, knives and sharp objects are prohibited in Singapore. :dunno:

Vandalisms are the least of my worries, its the "Aliens" prowling at night which poses more danger to us. My neighbours have been informed and will be keeping a look out for any of them, i suggest you do the same and inform them of the danger.

When is our gathering for the Meet the MP session on tuesdays 8pm? Lets go give them a "party" man, dun be shy! :notti:

    Wow Bro, this sounds serious..

Guess all of us has to be more vigilant and do not be

afraid to report any suspicious beings lurking around in

    the neighbourhood.

Quite shocked to see so many graffiti in the rooftop garden too..

These ppl deserved to be 8|8|8|

Btw anyone noticed a sudden surge of cars in our carpark on

National day? Its the 1st time I see almost all levels of carpark

full. Probably visitors hoping to catch fireworks? :dunno:

  14. Dear All,

Long time nv post liao. But I am still reading all postings daily :D

The security of our neighbourhood is really a problem. Not just for the ladies ...even for guys...I will join in to sigh the petition once confirmed. Let me know.

Saw meowie wil her dogs last Sunday, was cycling and wearing my specs, maybe she couldnt recognise me cos she looks blur when I smile at her.

Saw Liana's hubby that day at the lift lobby and say HI to him, he also blur...probably wondering how come I know him. No really staying there yet so maybe not much impression.

Have been quite busy with new job and the problems of Cirxxern ID. Thought my nightmare will be over after completion of renovation.

Now my kitchen cabinet wood had some "popping up" areas. Definitely due to some piping problem and water seepage. Called up my ID, nv pick up call. Call the office, say my ID will follow up with me. Can have the face to tell me our usual procedure is our ID will call up within 3 working days. So I waited till 4th day, still no call. I called up the office again. Demand them to give me an ans by that 4th day else I go to CASE. Finally my ID call me and tell me his HP got pblm so cant receive cal..*bull*****.

Then finally send plumber to my house. But the plumber just came in awhile and say its my washing machine leaking, tightened the hose and left. How can the water from the washing machine seep to the internal of my kitchen cabinet? I also not an expert in this area to be aware.

My hubby called them up again. This time round, after a week, the carpenter came down. Say will help me do laminate on the "popped" areas FOC. Asked him, whats the problem. At least need to know the cause then can axed all future problems. He told me he is not a plumber, dun know.

Hubby called them up again. ID took 2 days to reply (maybe to meet 3days procedure). Tell us will arrange for plumber. Asked them date and time. He said will check and let me know. 1 day has passed, no reply. Maybe another 2 days (to meet procedure of 3 working days) to reply again.

Can anyone advise me what to do? Go strsight to CASE got case? They reply within 3 days but not doing anything. What "branded" ID firm, got ISO, got HDB vertified....all full load of rubbish.

    Hi Toppie,

So sorry to hear that problems arises again shortly after your

    reno is done..

Like what most forummers have mentioned, no matter which ID

firm, "branded" or "ulu", is sure to have dark horses..

Perhaps you are just unlucky to bump into one of them..

So far, my ID has been still very "on the ball" in regards to minor

rectifications to my reno.. In fact, the painter has came back at least

5 times to touch up the painting works. (some of which is my own doings :notti: )

    :thumbs up:

Think it really boils down to the reputation of the ID. Gd IDs would want good

feedback and hence will usually do a good job and of course hoping for positive

"word of mouth" to promote their services.

Good luck and stay cool. Remember, most imptly is to get the defects rectified.

Would like to share with fellow neighbours that we can also

    register online with town council.

After registration, we would be able to login and check

    for any outstanding conservancy charges.

You may also wish to register for the free sms service too.

I just did both. Would rather pay online thru credit card to

earn pts than to join giro.. :notti:

  16. Ya, make the livenleave who tries to make punk in the forum to go is an example of reporting by me. While as I said, this is an open forum, take it positively. If any body found any person to be annoying, you can alway go to the control panel, add the annoy people there. From there hee hee, every thing will be like silent. You can alway add me if you like, we needed to respect anybody...

    :deal:

Hey, you are sounding much better already.

    Well done!! :thumbs up::good:

    Hey meowie & pooh_75

My bill for july is also quite high - $170+

Suspect that something might be wrong with their meter..

    meter running too fast?? :P

Major consumption is only the aircon we used in the mbr.

That can hardly justify the $170.. Hardly watch tv too.

    The most 3 hours daily.

Previously staying with parents with 1-2 aircons on every night,

and washing m/c used almost daily, electric kettle etc but the bill

was usually within the range of $100 - $150.

  17. Hi Droplets

we the ppl jacky was refering to... :notti: I had the same problem too...we changed our WC 3 times and we still face the same prob...so rite now we bought air freshener spray, aromatherapy which doesnt help that much...if ur plumber solves the issue, plsss let me know...

i agree with you tht its so frustrating to return home and when u walk pass ur door the smell wanna make u faint... :furious:

ps- thanks jacky for the info...

    Hi liana,

So the prob actually does not lie with your WC but with

the drainage system.. u might wish to get Town council

    people to assist?

    :yamseng:

  18. Red,

Won't close this thread.. lol.. don't worry. You guys just enjoy.

About the masking out .. we can.. but let's leave everything status quo. :thumbs up:

Glad that our moderator has came in for a friendly visit.

Hope that trouble makers or attention seekers won't

come in and disrupt the peace, tranquility and loads of

wonderful information and sharing among forummers.

Would be even better if "he" starts contributing constructively.

Always better to have another friend than a foe right? ;)

    Peace:sport-smiley-003:

  19. - i olso jus received it.

    - wonder how they compute?

    - mi gota pay $100.47 by 23aug08.

    :deal:

If i remembered correctly, mine is around the same amount too.

Think there's a breakdown in the letter as well.

Basically it goes by the Annual value of our property.

Annual value = estimated rent collected for 1 yr if rented out.

Guess rest of our neighbours will be expecting their bills soon too~~

    Original payment =$200++

less gst rebates etc = $100+

Yeah, I'm worried about the conservancy fees too.

Wonder how we are supposed to pay.. I assume they

will send us a bill baz.. if penalty comes b4 bill will sure

    complain!! :furious::P

  20. For those whom have not applied for your TV license, you can do it online at MDA Online and click on TV Licence (Residential / Household). From what i gather, all new applicants got to apply on your own the first time then subsequent bills will come with your Income Tax. Otherwise will kena fine and late payment fees ah.

    :deal:

Bro, need to apply the tv licence on our own?

I thought they will automatically put you in their listing.

Anyway, better to play safe and check whether

you are registered using your singpass. I'm registered. :sport-smiley-003:

Anyway, i just received my property tax bill.. :(

  21. Just a note that HTS eat alot of electric juice.. :P

No wonder my bill is heading north.. :(

shall restrict it to watching DVDs then.. :D

Just wana share with starhub subscribers,

For the 1st bill, we need to pay for 2 mths

fees upfront.. I almost got a shock when I saw

    the bill. :jawdrop:
