  1. Hi Liana..

I have the same colours as you for my kitchen cabinets!

Well, think its normal to see slight wavy effect, but make sure it is not too bad. A way to test is to see your own reflection. If your face is distorted badly or so, then probably there is a hollow area of the laminate that did not stick well enough onto the plywood.

And also check for deep scratches on the laminate. If your contractor protected the glossy part with film when they install and only remove them after they are done, usually this should be ok. For me, the carpenters transported the doors here without film and a few had visible scratches as a result. Quite unhappy about it, so my contractor bopian changed those few for me...hehe. :notti:

  2. For me hor...

    Morning WG

BS crystal accessories (choker necklace, bracelet, earrings)

    When I change to Kua

Changed earrings to diamond earrings given by mum

Changed bracelet to gold bangles given by mil

Changed necklace to simple necklace with diamond pendant given by mil

    Night WG

    Same accessories as morning

    Night EG

BS crystal accessories that matches the colour of my EG (choker necklace, bracelet, earrings)

Except for our white gold wedding band & diamond ring from Hubby I wear whole day throughout.

Its ok to get BS accessories cos' to achieve the "glittery" effect from the crytals you would have to spend a bomb on diamonds! Haha.

Can also buy your own crystal set la...but why spend the money if you think you might only wear it once?

I think most brides do borrow from BS most of the time... :yamseng:

  3. Hi,

I had homo tiles for living room and laminate for bedrooms...so we asked HDB to do cement screeding for the bedrooms only as laminate requires a smooth flat surface b4 they can lay the planks...

My previous place was fully laminate so they screeded the whole house except the kitchen! :P

You can save quite a bit having HDB to do the screeding...but remember to apply early as there is a waiting period for some estates...especially new ones...I waited 2 weeks for mine to be done and it delayed my renovation progress...fortunately I was not in a hurry to move in.... :dribble:

  4. Hi fifteenmay...

It also depends on how intensive your day will be...150 photos not a lot to me... :dribble:

Are you having solemnisation together with your day events and night events? Are you inviting many guests for your tea ceremony? Do you have many tables for your banquet? All these may require more photos as AD photos is like a slideshow of your wedding day...every moment is captured...from your makeup to you walking out of the house...taking the bridal car...blah blah...if you have too few photos...the album will lack the fluidity of the events...

For my own wedding...our photographer took about 900++ photos...we developed 350 photos...quite sufficient in my opinion...although initially we had a headache rejecting those 600 photos...hahahaha...

    :P

  5. Hi hobbes...

Your bathroom can't be any smaller than mine right? Hehe..yours is an EA while mine is a 4 room...if mine can yours should not be a problem...hehe.. :dunno:

Well...I love the look of glass shower screens...very classy! But must get at least 10mm tempered glass type...so that it is thick enough...don't compromise on a cheaper quote cos' they may give you thinner glass...

For my other bathroom which is REALLY too small for a shower screen...we DIY a shower curtain area from IKEA....looks quite nice too...

    !!

  6. Hi hobbes...

I think pull door type is good cos' there wouldn't be sliding tracks for mould to grow...last time my hubby wanted sliding but after much consideration we decided on a pull door...

My MBR is also very small....we made the door such that it PUSHES into the shower area instead of pulling it out!! Maybe you can do the same too!! :curse:

  7. Haha...

I fully agree with TPY! When my relatives come my place...they say it looks like I am living in a bungalow where the bedrooms can see trees outside...hehe...

Fortunately we don't have a void deck that can be used for "white" events...and our direction has quite a lot of privacy and peace at night...

The only complaint is the mosquitoes recently that always come up for food every night... :curse:

And inconsiderate people burning incense below...but can always complain to town council to move the bins elsewhere lor...heehee... :notti:

  8. Hi canis..

I also DIY-ed the the frosted effect for my toilet window panes for more privacy. I got them from a shop along balestier near Hafary. You will see the shop having many types of window film from the outside. They sell according to how much you need, so remember to take measurements of your windows before you go!

Installation is pretty simple, just like what brainstorm described.

    :)

  9. Hmm...if anyone you know can alter ready made curtains to your needs...you can save quite a bit...we got ikea curtains and my mum customise the width for us & hubby installed the curtain rods himself... :jawdrop:

So in the end we only spend half of what we need to spend if we engage a curtain maker...hehe...but of course if you want special material like organza...no choice must get the professionals lor... :notti:

  10. Hi keltong...

HDB aircon ledge window is frosted but if switch on the light can see through!! I'm sure you don't want ppl to see what's going on inside right...hehe... :jawdrop:

Well...cos' we hardly open the windows at the AC ledge...that's why probably got mould...we got the opaque white one....

  11. Hi owm...thanks for the info...

Actually our current one is from Ikea...but its not very good as it attracts little insects (not too sure what they are though) and mould after some time...gotta keep cleaning it...

saw the spotlight one b4...but not too sure if the material will be the same as ikea and we end up with the same problem lor...

  12. Haha...back to the topic...

For us we topped up about 22 photos....paid about $1200+...:P

BS usually take a lot more photos than required...so that they can tempt you to buy more than what they give!! So a word of advice for those who haven't choose theirs...set a budget for yourself before you go and choose your photos....on that day itself...remind each other to try not to succumb to the temptation and exceed your budget too much! Haha...whoever can't resist will have to pay the extras!!

    :P
